Common misconceptions about black holes: -) They don't "suck" - they're no vacuum cleaner sucking in mass from afar. -) There's a maximum amount of matter they can consume (or trap - that's probably more accurate phrasing), everything beyond that amount would be pushed away from the black hole before it could be trapped due to the radiation generated. Also: 4:25 - 4:56 priceless reaction 🤣

Look at kursgezagts videos of black holes, the schwarzschild radius ( very close on pronunciation good job 👍) is the point at which if you compressed an object to that size it would collapse into a black hole, for the sun it’s a few kilometres, for earth it’s a penny and for Mount Everest, well the largest primordial black hole that theoretically hasn’t vaporised yet would have a similar mass but be around the size of a proton! Another coincidence is that the Schwartz child radius of a human is almost exactly, 1 plank length!!! That’s insane, a truely cosmic coincidence

Afaik one of the biggest mysteries in astronomy is that the stars in a galaxy aren't even bound by gravity to the black hole. They don't orbit it but rather some other spot.

The black hole at the center of our galaxy is Sagittarius A*, it contains the mass of 4.6 million suns. The closest black hole to earth, is the unicorn, it's also the least massive black hole we know of, 2.9 suns. The most massive black hole we know of is TON 618, with a mass of 66 billion suns.

If Mars were consumed by that black hole, as long as it stays outside of the event horizon (the radius around the black hole beyond which light isn't drawn in) then it will survive just fine. It will orbit really fast. As it starts to approach the event horizon though, the gravitational force on the side closer to the black hole will be so much higher than the force on the far side of the planet that it will literally stretch mars out very extremely, and begin to break pieces of it off. It will shred the planet. Anything that crosses over the event horizon is gone. Permanently. Time will also begin to do extremely strange things in close to the event horizon. Relativity shows that gravitational fields and acceleration/velocity are all inter-related, so an intense gravitational field is going to slow time down. If you're standing there on Mars looking away from the black hole, you'll be moving normally but you will see the rest of the Universe speeding up. You'll essentially watch the entire future history of time play out, and then cross the event horizon and disappear from reality.
