As strange as this episode is, I think the message is more to do with how society was so fixated on watching the prime minister perform ( watching chaos unfold), no one noticed the girl was released BEFORE he started with the pig. People don’t care about people’s well being, the would rather see chaos.

This is the strangest pilot to get people interested in a show. The second episode is a much better start. This should have been the finale of season 1.

Wow, It's been a while, I'd forgotten how ..... passionate you guys get. Hahaha. Just remember with this show it's all about holding up a mirror. I think this episode's message was more about the public's reaction than anything else. Look forward to more of these.

I always have so much to say about this episode as a pilot, it’s wild and I’m not even going to get into it. I’ve only been able to watch this episode twice and at least 3 people are getting fired if I’m in charge, his team tried a lot but they dropped the ball a lot, because there’s an over an hour and a half that she was actually safe…no team doing live surveillance monitoring of the area? I just can’t go back to this episode without thinking how crazy it is that it took so long to notice she was found but then again the world would really be so distracted waiting for ‘the show’ 🙃

Dead Set (2008) is the show that got black mirror made, it is sort of the unofficial pilot episode it can be watched as a film it 2.5 hours long, you should watch that its 28 Days Later meets Big Brother it even has people from Big Brother playing themselves

Black Mirror was a British show and it was fucking brilliant until Netflix bought it and started catering towards American audiences….aka dumbed it down

When it was on channel 4, it was such a different show! Then mr Brooker sold to netflix and it's still good, but it's lost the raw gritty feel us brits do so well ✌🏼

@@drewmaidment2685 i will say, I mistakenly watched the UK shameless in its entirety before realizing people were telling me to watch the US one. I liked it better. One thing i noticed was the actors looked more like real people, physically, flaws and all. American cinema hires too many airbrushed people and it becomes unbelievable.

in the UK the Prime Minister doesn't have the same power as the President in the US, the Prime Minister can be switched by his party at anytime

The Prime Minister technically has nothing to do with the Roal Family. The King is more of a symbol nowadays & doesn't really have much power.

I looove Black Mirror but I was sooo uncomfortable in that Anthony Mackie episode you motioned, I really didn't like it. But after watching some breakdowns for it, it's now one of my Top 5 favourite episodes! Such an interesting dynamic!

I don’t know if Miley used the black community I think she was generally into hip hop, trap, and dubstep music at the time. Artists change and grow. And she still is influenced by black music. PRETTY MUCH ALL MUSIC IS!
