Your reaction to "Unchained Melody " by the Righteous Bros. is one of my favorites. Very touching! I`m an old guy and have been a musician all my life. In the 70`s I was in an 8 piece band for 9 years in Honolulu ,Hawaii. One night that very Righteous Brother ( Bobby Hatfield ) came in the club and wanted to sit in with the band. He came up and stood right next to me and sang "Unchained Melody". He absolutely KILLED it. ( so did the band ) The crowd went crazy ! It`s still one of the highlights of my musical life. Keep up the great reactions!

Bill Medley (the low voiced one) went on to sing "Time of My Life" with Jennifer Warnes for the movie "Dirty Dancing." And yes, he was fabulous in that song as well. I'm so glad more people are discovering The Righteous Brothers! They were incredible!

Please take this from the heart, my generation and to some extent culture, has difficulty processing how it can be that so many people in this country assume or missed or forgot, how much we love all of our people. So much was gained during this time (The Righteous Brothers were so embraced by black musicians, the two men took on the name given to them by the black musicians they knew on tour). These “black people react” are watched by a lot of people because, we are happy and amazed that one side of the culture has forgotten this incredible journey, and the music led the way in some cases, but in others, it followed.

The first reactor was India and she's such a lovely soul. She feels the music and gets the emotion the songs convey. I laughed when you laughed about Ty's head scratching! You know he loves the song when he does that! His surprise that the Righteous Brothers were white was fun and tells just how good they really were. While I love their big Pop hits like this one, they made their name with more R&B based songs where they could call and respond with the joy and rapture of a Southern Gospel church choir. The fourth one was KSO and she is a real sweetheart. I've seen her crying her eyes out as she really feels certain songs deep inside. I've watched her musical journey for a little while and she's already got some favourites she returns to for another song. Finally, don't feel self-conscious about your own reaction. You did as almost all do, especially when they reach the down on my knees line. As always, you're entertaining, my friend. And that's never a bad thing. Overall, the message is the same with each of these reactors - music knows no colour. Music is emotion and we all have those. I enoyed watching you again, as I always do. Thank you, Too Sushi ☺♥

Nev va heard of da brutha, UNTIL, a white friend who played his album. I was like, damned, a brutha star of country music? no way! [course, I only listened to some popular country and only gospel on rare occasion. Country bcs that fine white girl thought I should try it. You know the rest. I was straight-up Motown everything, as were most Italians, some Asians, and the few recognized latins, those that weren't trying to pass, and you know what I mean. My music genres today are very ecclectic, thanks to the women along the way.

You have no idea how happy you make me listening to this Music. I was born in 1966 so I really got familiar with them in the 1980's. They got their start performing in San Francisco at Naval Bases where the Black Sailors which made up the bulk of The Audience would Clap an say "That's Righteous Brothers!" This was Produced By Phil Spector the first acknowledged Record Producer whose greatest claim to fame was being part of The Original Girl Group Phenomenon who wrote and produced hits for The Ronettes (Be My Baby), The Crystals (Da Doo Run Run), and River Deep Mountain High for Ike & Tina Turner. In 1981 they reunited t for the American Bandstand Anniversary Special to sing "Rock & Roll Heaven". They had no idea how much would change in the past 39 Yrs. Many of the folks that appeared on these "Specials" are now dead. If you want to hear some amazing Blue Eyed Soul Singers, check out The Brits, Scots, and Irish. George Michael, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, Dusty Springfield, Duffy and Nadine Coyle (formerly of Girls Aloud), who are Irish and Ruthanne as well.

Young lady, whether a song is soul, rock, country, gospel, etc. It makes no difference. Music is a experience! A expression. A outpouring of the person's soul. And there is a moral, or a story to be heard.a lesson to be shared. Also Merle Haggard mama tried, okie from Muskogee , Hank Williams Cold cold heart. Then howlin wolf, muddy waters, Robert Johnston, bo Diddley, Ike and Tina Turner, iron butterfly Ina gada devida ( the 17 minute lp version) when you listen to music from everyone. Your perspective , your mind is blown. Open to the beauty of what it means to be a human. To feel . Not just hear. But moved in the soul.
