I'm glad that The Roots are house band of the Tonight Show. Without Fallon, I wouldn't have known who they are. And I began to listen to their music because Fallon managed to make them a lot more popular. I knew something was very special about them when Fallon chose The Roots as the band for his show

SilvaBack well lyrically Eminem is better than all of those guys (in comparison to black thought)and Royce 5’9, nas. Those are the only worthy opponents. @@williammoultrie9049 That sounds crazy, The Roots and Digable planets at the same show. I think it was 96 when I first saw them live at the Jazz Cafe London, only a small venue of about 300 people. My friend pounced on Black Thought after the show to give some love, he was extremely humble and happy to have a fan speak to him. He would be mobbed now though.

Black thought is the G.O.A.T in my opinion. I’m a young Hip-Hop head that goes back and appreciates the classics of the culture and there’s plenty to consider, but he’s no doubt top 5 of all time. His legendary work with The Roots speaks for itself along with every aspect of a top mc he has it. Flow, Cadence, internal rhyme schemes, double entendres,etc. Respect from Texas✊🏿

His stage stage game separates him from everyone else. He's been performing for live from the corners of philly to concerts for over 30 years. As per Rakim, Thought knows every lyric from all of everyone else's songs. G Rap says he's the only one that can perform Men At Work. He simply does things in rap with his breath control, variant delivery and memory that no one can do.
