Serving tray. It could be a makeshift TV tray for food, bedside tray for coffee, or serving tray for multiple dishes. I always like being able to use wood items instead of just looking at them. Over time, the skin oil transfer to wood makes a pretty pattern. Can't wait to see your outcome on this.

Serving tray or a coffee table whichever you would get most pleasure from using the most I think its gorgeous just the way it is so whatever you decide to make will be just gorgeous I have no doubt in this, great work as always and your correct with the over kill on the tape, a couple of rolls of tape is a hell of a lot cheaper than refilling the epoxy because of leakage 👍👍👍

Peggy, this video just came through tonight. I don't know if you did part 2 yet. If I has my shop, there are several things I could think of to use a piece this nice. The top panel of a stile and rail door. I would use it as well art. The top of a table, or desk. Speaking of doors, it looks like you have a new Therma Tru 2 panel fiber classic door in your shop. We just put three similar ones in the addition of our home, two with glass on top and one fire door between the house and garage. Nice doors.

@PFWoodturning 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Karl. No I did not use a mold release agent, with the tuck tape I find that I don't have to. Also, with Total Boat thick set, I don't generally use a heat gun or torch, all the bubble are very good about popping on their own, because of the long open time to curing.

First, how do you determine how much resin you need? Will you be short, or to much. Second, wondering about a bowl. Cut in as many equal pieces, angle them to each other as you glue up. Just a different thought from some of the other comments I read. Looking good so far.

Thanks, Joseph! There is a volume calculation that you can do...you can find it pretty easily online. However, I did not use it on this.

You have to do a serving plater! That’s far too gorgeous of a piece of wood to just hang on a wall! But what the hell do I know, I’m a retired mechanic and metal bender.

Cut it in half, one part for wall art, the other a serving tray. Otherwise, I love the idea of a table

Cut one end off and turn a plate. Use the rest to make a small table, then put the plate on the table.

It's a very nice piece. It looks a little long for a serving tray. I'd rather use it as wall art than cut it down for use as a tray.

Rip it in two...then, turn the live edges facing each other...seperate the live edges enough and create a "river run" effect...thats what I would, but that's me...just saying...but, P' what ever you decide and create will be simply marvelous!...😎

Hi there. I started a couple of years ago after being enthralled by watching another woodturner on KZfaq...it seems very therapeutic. I tried it and I was hooked.
