Lol I love how opposite DC and Marvel are. DC fk up with the movies but man, the animated series' are amazing. With Marvel, the movies have arguably changed the way Cinema presents hero/action movies but the animated series', for the most part, always lack something. Either they get cancelled too early (Spectacular Spiderman) or don't ever seem to want to branch out from its main demographic and stay childish and boring after a while (Ultimate Spider-Man)

The reason she lost her accent was not because of clever writing but rather the writers being forced to be more like the MCU and since Natasha didnt have an accent there it was removed for EMH

EMH is what the MCU should have been. Black Widow was a hundred times more interesting than the movies ever tried with her. Nat playing both sides strongly reminded me of Severus Snape from Harry Potter. Even the simple action of having her switch accents was a genius. I can't believe how wasted she was in the MCU.

yeah the main issue is that the films she's clearly/definitively on the good guys side so she just comes off more as a standard spy. here you never truly knew which side she's on, is she a good guy, bad guy, pretending to work with one? that made her mysterious and a more mythic figure which makes her really interesting
