Here are a couple of stats that might cheer you up. There are over 4.5 million black americans with college degrees. And the amount of black americans in prison at any given time compared to the total overall population of black americans in america is less than 1%.

None of your family members were involved in any type of riot or such as Black Wall Street, Rosewood FL, or Wilmington NC. It always seems that places that were populated by black communities were almost always the ones affected. When you take those communities and property away you are also taking away generational wealth. White people today have the nerve to ask about why are things the way that they are in our communities, as if they had no clue as to their ancestors' involvement. The Internet does not convey emotion or inflection. Actually there is something I can do about it. I can bring attention to the atrocity, that is what I can do. Bringing attention to that and the fact that people lost homes and property and were never reimbursed. Bringing attention to atrocities like that is what helped a family reacquire the land that was taken from their ancestors when the New Jersey shore a 100 years ago. It was pristine land on the shore of New Jersey in an affluent area. So don't tell me that we can't do anything about it. I think it should be both If the money isn't put directly into many hands it's going to be used in a corrupt and paternalistic way that is designed to fail. I would favor the modern equivalent of 40 acres and a mule with a financial counselling program made available to those who want it. I would favor an investigation and reimbursement with interest for specific incidents as well. I would also favor an infrastructure package aimed at the development of new towns and rehabilitation of existing communities including employment opportunities and education. I don't mean just one of these I mean all of these at once.

Reparations? How about through the vote? I read this morning that RFK (who is now an independent) is proposing Reparations for Black Americans.
