It's honestly nice to see somebody actually taking the time to truly forge instead of just taking a piece of bar stock and cutting and grinding it down into the final piece.

I just started doing blacksmithing as a hobby, and i have to say your video's are a great inspiration for me. Thank you 👍 awesome job.

Your blacksmithing skills get better every time you upload a new video. I admire your persistence. And, I love your work. Please, feed us with more videos! The style of no commentary, silence and just the sound of hammers and the other tools, really relaxes me in a way like ASMR does, it is elegant and natural. Looking forward to your new videos. I used your method for the handle to make a herb chopper of my own today (I put a handle at each end) It works so well. Thank you. Its just a hobby for me, I'm not very good but I enjoy doing it. I thought I was going to have to cut a tail at each end to make handles. I'm glad I came across your video. Greetings from Ireland.

I really liked this simple design and decided to forge one finally this evening. It isn't as pretty, but I think it'll come out nice enough. I have a love for these kinds of blades as they remind me of the centuries before machining, when you could look at something and see how much time, patience, and skill had been put into it.

This is beautiful work. The height of the blade, the rocking movement it all perfectly done. But for someone like me who has to chop large amounts of herbs, often the handle is not practical at all. Too thin, and there is no easy way to rock it back and forth to use it on the herbs. ❤

When i make these, i use the same techniques with very few exceptions. I typically round my tails instead of keeping them squared. I don't typically grind the tip of the blade squared either. Also, using a brass brush at the very last heat on the spine and tail handle for a "Finnegan's Gold" effect is very nice to look at, in my opinion. Very well done! Hope to see more of your videos. +1 subscriber!
