The best point here is Lebron remained the best player in the NBA through multiple changes in how teams are assembled and how the game is played. I lived through the Jordan era and I’ve never seen the league go through that many changes from ‘03 to now and one guy still dominated his craft through it all with little to no drop off. He’ll never be associated with cliches like “He was great but the game passed him by.” He doesn’t have to your personal goat, but his greatness is undeniable.

I think the point DG is making is that LeBron did what he did with less talent on his team and played better opponents in the Finals. Jordan's path to the Finals was more difficult, but once he got to the Finals, his opponents were not as good as the ones LeBron faced. Also, it's easier to win in a league where the talent level on average is less than the talent level during the era in which LeBron played: Players are bigger, faster, and stronger than they were during Jordan's generation.

Im I getting through? It's humorous yet sad how people think they are tough, but in reality simply are eking their way through life to understand its meaning, while living underneath a comfy blanket of trauma. I actually played basketball at a high level before injury, so yes it's a different level of understanding one would have than watching the game from the cheap seats, season after season. He only beats him in team wins. Kareem is the other star who comes the closest. And Kareem has the edge over Jordan depending on how much emphasis one chooses to place on a players' success in college. That's the problem whenever I hear people make the argument for LeBron. Their argument is inconsistent. OK so LeBron is better because he beat the greatest team ever assembled which was the warriors right? Then why is Jordan ahead of Curry in his rankings? Why isn't Durant higher because Durant almost beat those same warriors that same year. James Harden needs to be top 10 because again James Harden nearly beat the Durant Warriors while LeBron's cavs got swept. Miami with three all stars losing to a team with one all star that's not in anyone's top ten list just didn't happen I guess

That's a straight lie. Everyone expected Magic, James Worthy, and Vlade to beat Jordan. They were also not the favourites to win in 1998 against the Jazz. People thought the Bulls (oldest team in the league) were too old that time and would lose. They were the favourites the other times. But being an underdog doesn't mean you're the better player. Nor does being the "overdog". Winning means you're better, losing means you aren't. Just because people expect you to lose doesn't mean you are better than if people expect you to win.

@@dnice4145 but it does speak to the ratio of talent between Jordan and his competitors vs Lebron and his competitors. If you're leagues above your competition, it's easy to say things like this. But if Lebron is wanting to be the goat, then he has to proportionately be that much better than his competition, the way MJ was, but he isn't.

Boy you slow...How can he be average at all those things but be one of the most efficient in the history of the game lol.His size strength and speed was an advantage just like MJ in the 90s.Look at how he get to the rack and creates balance in his scoring.MJ did the same thing and added a post game later in his career. So did Bron. And Jordan never won anything without Pippen.Point blank period.

@gabrieleaster Steve kerr,John paxon,bj Armstrong,Craig hodges, jud Buchler. All great 3 point shooters.Tex winters triangle offense was built to put shooters in the corners so the stars could have more room to iso and make easy reads.Phil Jackson knew exactly how to maximize mj and Scotties abilities.Look at the lakers.Fisher,Horry and Odom.Odom was nearly identical to kuckok. The other guys were sharp shooters. And you evidently must not remember how good Dennis and harper were.Great defensively.Longley was no scrub.Jordans teams were loaded
