Here's the thing: It would be amazing if the curtain could be completely pulled back and all the participants agree "Share your truth and no offense, all is forgiven and forgotten"...but that's not realistic. That JJ, Blake and others are even willing to give us this much of a glimpse inside is awesome.

Those 3 teams were elite as they get. Not to mention the Spurs had Lamarcus as well but sadly underachieved w that roster. I say 2014 cause they at least beat the warriors Idk if they do in 15. I think blowing that okc game was worse than the josh smith game. Cause at least they took away they’re best option harden the phrase “make someone else beat you” actually happens sometimes. Lol it’s like if Westbrook randomly makes 8 3s and you lose a game 7 it’s like oh well how often does that happen 🤷🏾‍♂️.

2014 Warriors were not fully evolved yet. They were already good and the potential was clear but they still were not the Warriors we all know now. They signed Kerr, key role player in Livingston and Green had his first breakout year the next season. 2014-2015 season was when the Warriors were finally fully unleashed. Also, that 2013-2014 Spurs team for some reason is insanely underrated nowadays. They were absolutely incredible and beat Heat in a dominant fashion. One of the most impressive NBA championship teams in the last 20 or so years by far. The reason for that Spurs team decline is the timing of their Duncan, Parker, Ginobili trio and their new two way superstar Kawhi. Before 2014 Kawhi was still developing and after 2014 age was really getting in the way of the legendary trio. 2014 playoffs was when Kawhi emerged as a superstar and the trio was still somewhat in form. 2014 Spurs were absolutely fascinating.@@Kirbystare1992

No way the clips beat those 2014 Spurs imo, 2015 was a decent team though. Imho it's just tough to win without a star wing. Chris Paul might be my favorite player to watch all time, but he has to work too hard to score, it's just difficult to carry a big scoring load at that height. Griffin is a solid player as well, but he wasn't exactly the most skilled scorer on the planet, or an elite 2 way player. Clips had to play really tight in order to win, and that's tough. Winning a chip is difficult, and it's even more difficult to win when a team is relying on out executing the rest of the competition. It was equally as tough for Stockton and Malone to get done as well, regardless of pettiness and mental toughness. 2015 was the best team relative to competition though. GSW figured it out the next year, and OKC was imo the best team in the league by the playoffs, but, in 2015 Warriors weren't really tested due to injuries, and they were always a little loose with the ball. Clips would of been the team to push them a little. It would of been a fun series.

I always wondered what would have happened if Clips Warriors played in 2015 WCF. Felt like it would have went at least six or seven either way. Youre right 2015 was def their best shot. They had all the momentum after beating the defending champs and then had the Rockets on the ropes. Overall tho they just didn't have enough talent. They always seemed like they were one piece away. Like they just needed a solid wing that could play passable defense and hit a corner 3. Someone that you can use on Josh Smith when he gets hot or put on KD and at least try to slow him down. Somebody like that would've taken a huge load off of Paul and Blake. I still remember in 2014 all they had was Dudley for KD lmao. The man was getting absolutely cooked every time down the floor.

Not just mentally. More balanced roster, better coached, had better game plans and sets, especially in playoffs. Those Spurs and Warriors teams were magic and really well oiled machines with great defense and amazing free flowing offense while Clippers had tendencies to become a bit slugish and lack imagination/visions against playoffs defenses and relied way too much on CP3 and BG being their offense. Warriors and Spurs moved the ball and much more and in general played off ball much better getting easier better shots where CP3 and BG were often working like horses to get a decent shot for their team or were forced to take tougher shots than the opposition. No one reasonable ever put Clippers as the main contenders. In reality they were more of a dark horse/or tier 2 contenders behind the tier 1 contenders. Their flaws was always apparent (lack of good wing that isn't way past his prime and outdated offense relying way too much on CP3 and BG generating looks). It's just a lot of fans get mesmerized by their constant highlights making them appear more dominant than they really were and people blindly jumping aboard Doc Rivers train just because he has won the title with Celtics in the past with hall of fame trio and insane defensive talent along them). Still a really great team that made so many incredible memories along the way and the fact that they beat one of the most impressive defending champions -2014-2015 Spurs was absolutely incredible.

The thing with CP is he expects people to give 100% all the time and if he sees someone screw up he is blunt about it. This rubs a lot of personalities the wrong way but it's also part of the reason why his teams are always good. He gets the most he can out of his teammates. Booker is similar in that he is super competitive and wants to win so bad which is why they work well together. Winning is above any other consideration. I don't know CP has the social graces to ever be a coach lol.

@lunacy5510
@lunacy5510 2 ай бұрын
Defense was weakness, especially at the wing (CP3 being the best KD "stopper" that the team could offer is a perfect example of this), however their offense is also was a big problem too, especially in playoffs. Their regular season offense was amazing but they couldn't keep the same pace during the playoffs. The coaching, schemes and sets were obsolete and they were clearly dragging behind much more modern Warriors, Spurs, Rockets offenses. Clippers were working much harder for their looks than their opposition. Maybe their offense was the way it was due to lack of elite wing or because of certain players not willing to give up their iso tendencies but the fact of their offenses becoming way less effective during playoffs in comparison to regular season still stands. Cavs were able to get away with more static offense in playoffs but unlike Clippers they had elite defense and they had LeBron as their wing. Moral of the story: work smarter not harder unless you have a wing that literally can do everything at the elite level. @@KB-qk1ic
