Doc Rivers is arguably the worst coach in NBA history given the talent he's had. I've if the coaches with the most talent yet owns several worst of all-time records. The most 3-1 leads, blown 3-2 leads (not including 3-1 series) that amounts almost 30% of all playoff series in the league in history, and the only guy to have an 18 game losing streak, and he did it with two different teams, both with all NBA superstars on roster. This guy is really just a talker and motivator, not a coach. He's very good at talking to management and owners, and as a person, his true colors have slowed itself with every time when blame starts going around. He has placed it on others, especially his players, with every team since Orlando. We've all met co-workers like this with no substance but can play politics and have tremendous skill in pleasing the higher-ups, so it's not surprising he keeps fumbling and stumbling to new job opportunities, despite on merits alone would probably have been out of the league a long time ago. That's why I respect the 08 Celtics. Credit to defensive coach Tom Thibobeau and the four coaches and leaders on the floor. They didn't win because of Doc. They won in spite of him.

He really didn't. That was 95% narrative. Should he have said, "Yes. Absolutely." Sure. But "I don't know" is literally the correct answer to that question. People act like Doc said: "No. Ben cannot lead us to a championship. He is not a winning player" The man was just being honest. People are too sensitive.

These two are spot on. You can tell they’re holding back and trying to take it easy on him a little, which I understand. The best the defending champ spurs and now doc says he knew they could never win a championship. What kind of message does that send his players now? If he says “guys we can win a championship” how could you believe him. His statement was also devoid of any personal accountability. He was the coach AND the gm, yet he was talking as if he had nothing to do with the under performance of those teams.

Doc just never learns from his mistakes. Inside and out of the court. From all the 3-1 blown leads and former players talking about his lack of adjustments in those series. Then outside of the court where his mouth always gets him in trouble, from the failed duncan recruitment, throwing ben simmons under the bus now he is throwing clippers under the bus. Biggest thing he needs to learn is accountability.

It's sad because he doesn't realize that he's the problem. For years now I can tell he's not able to capitalize on what he has. Yes he won a chip and he was probably at his peak as a coach and now he's just washed as a head coach.

If you don't got guys occasionally arguing in the locker room, you don't got people holding each other accountable and being honest with each other. You don't got people who care about winning. It's all how you handle coming back together after. Bad teams get in their feelings about it, Good teams get back on the same page. Coaching and leadership picks which lane your team is in.

I remember watching those clippers teams just wishing for them to stay healthy. The on court team chemistry never seemed to be the issue. Its fucked up to put the blame on the players when you're the leader of the team. And the one chip with the 08 Celtics Doc has as a coach had an insane line-up and depth. He lucked out Rondo was so poised as a young player and the big 3 were starving to get one. He didn't do much to develop those players, may glen Davis. He definitely should take more accountability about the impact a coach should have on a team instead of acting like its completely out of his control. -"They are not getting along again, looks like we are never going to win" lmao
