Someone found an easier solution: Hold down the Power, OK, and 'Reticle' buttons for about 12-15 seconds and the scope will power off. Turn it back on and everything should be OK. It worked for me.

What if the programs failed when updating the ELF file and/or the Firmware. Is failes every time when trying to load BLD

Does this work also for the THOR LT ? It does not seem like it has a Update mode ? It freezes after I fire and needs a hard reset to work again.....

i have 2 scoops just like this and they both fail so much issues with it i try to update just like the video and it update the file one but wen i go to the web update it fails and one of my scopes turns on but then blank screen cant do shit with it then the other one none of the buttons work i have done so much to make it work and it just sucks and both of these scopes has less then one hour on them . its so hard to get a hold of them because of from hawaii and the time zones are why off so i dont know what to do now

So i had been getting used to my 4k pro x5-20 finally got to the point to start setting it up and installed the new firmware update , second time turning it on same day is when the scope gave me blank screen. Shear bad luck or was this freeze linked to a bad update?

any chance ATN will be fixing this problem soon? when this happens to me on a hunt i will be sad =( TIP: exporting profile to SD card make the restore a little quicker, makes an xml file called "profile" it appears to include all three of the profiles i had entered into the scope)

Why is the firmware that you download through the App older than what is shown on the website? .483 versus .510 for the Thor 4?

Had this scope all of 3 days and it worked fine up till I linked my cell phone to it and started viewing the eyepiece from the scope on my phone and then it froze up, after trying I never got the blue button to appear on my computer so I removed the micro as card from the scope and bam the scope works like it should, and I purchased the sd card the same day I received the scope and it’s a class 10 and sdhc 32 g so I have no ideal what caused it to go bad but maybe this helps you out

Hi. I am getting to the step where I load the elf file name and connect the scope to the PC via a USB cable. I push the power and down buttons at tge same time and the PC indicates there is a new USB connection. The scope's monitor is dark. But the Update button on the AtN Firmware software does not turn blue. Please advise

How do you get the card to read? Sd card not mounted and next question is how to you remove the card?

So will this prevent future freezes from occurring or just resolve the immediate freeze? I just got a new 4k pro 5-20x and updated the firmware successfully the sd card. Scope is freezing and staying stuck on an image within a few minutes of using the scope, I can hard reset the scope by holding power down (sometimes will power down normally) but when I boot up again it will freeze within a few minutes again. Will this correct the continuous freezes? If not, I think I need a return and replacement and if the same thing happens will probably have to go down the refund route. This is very disappointing. I have a Mac so will need to run bootcamp to do all this, so want to get an idea of if it is worth trying first.

Is it necessary to do the Factory Setting Reset after you install the Firmware update? I've restored full functionality to my scope by doing the sequential firmware installs with all profiles preserved.

Took me forever to get the update button to turn blue. Followed your instructions to the letter and wouldn't work. Finally got it to work by running without using Administrator. Worked instantly and fixed my blank screen and was then able to install current firmware. So anyone else unable to get UPDATE to show blue, close the programme and reopen without Administrator

I just had this issue Sunday when I was getting to the stand. Not knowing the cause is frustrating. I then noticed my serial number matches the one in the video. I guess that is the reason it was a refurb deal. ATN needs to update the firmware to save ALL configurable settings and ammo profiles to the SD card anytime something is changed without me doing it. At least then recovering from a firmware restore is easier.

I have a blank white screen and non-responsive buttons an my scope won't even power off so I can follow these steps. Any suggestions as how to turn it off? I tried Barry"s suggestion below and nothing happened.

Have tried this update and stuff multiple times. It keeps freezing, works but then won’t shut off with buttons and it asks for software update. I can’t click yes or no then when I power off it freezes back up again.

After installed file software, my OK button stopped working after testing. Did the update again and same thing, OK button not working. OK button worked before the update. Please advise.

You can't connect to the x sight pro if it freezes on on. So you need a hard shut down.

Hello, I have had Atn binox 4k for two days. I connected wi-fi to the phone. After a few hours the wi-fi stopped connecting. I did a factory reset. Two phones and laptop can see the binoculars wifi but won't connect. where is the problem?

The update button is flashing and the noise saying its plugged in keeps replaying? I press the button and itll start but seems like it gets unplugged less than a second later even though its still plugged in

ON WEB THERE IS NO DEVICE TYPE!!!!! Damn i resetted now with a basic firmware and cant get the new one over web. AND i cant even install from sd card because the ok button dont work on the basic firmware!!

Is there something I'm missing here? I held down simultaneously the POWER + DOWN button and nothing shows up. The power button alone now after being pressed will not cause the screen to power on so I had to hold it down until I heard a click then press the POWER button again for the scope to turn on. After pressing the POWER and holding it-it asks if I want to shut off the device and I choose YES. It shuts down and my USB cable is connected to my computer. I have the screen available and again upon pressing DOWN + POWER buttons nothing happens and the whole thing repeats itself. The UPDATE button doesn't become BLUE. UPDATE: I've even restarted my computer for the ATN software to capture my USB device. I press the DOWN + POWER button and the UPDATE button on the program just flickers and does not stay solid and even trying to click on it does nothing. It seems like the scope doesn't want to connect to the program for it to start programming. I've uploaded to show what the I see when pressing both DOWN + POWER buttons. Again, it seems like the device wants to connect, but then it doesn't. I'm waiting for the blue UPDATE button to stay blue, but it doesn't and you can see me clicking my mouse on the button regardless and nothing happens. so how do I know it off when all I've got is a black screen?

Screen is froze on the night vision setting and won’t shut off. Tried the power and down buttons won’t do anything. Tried restarting computer and switching USB ports. Still can’t get the update to light up.

I had the same problem this weekend. I decided to let the battery drain. Once the white screen was gone, I tried powering it back on. Guess what, everything was back to normal. The battery was critically low, and powered back off in 3 seconds. Next I connected it to the charger to see what it would show, I powered it on right away. Still normal, but now charging as well. I went ahead and shut it off to leave it charging. I will let you guys know my findings tommorow. Fingers crossed, and I won't have to go through all that jazz.

The video says hold down power button and down arrow simultaneously well the xsight 4K has no down button so I can’t ever get it to connect to the computer.

Thanks this worked great, easier than atn option. Good God ATN has you carrying your laptop with you. At least this way you can fix it if you're out hunting.

Mine fails to perform the firmware update. I can turn it on by pressing the power button, I get the screen with the crosshair, but nothing works. The compas keeps on north, the tilt isn't working, can't use the okay button and I have to power down pressing 15sec... Any thoughts?

Second step doesn't work says failed at end of update. I have my widgets back but that's it and they aren't functional.

In my case, the screen is Blank, and I tried this process. In step 6, it keeps progressing, but in the end it always showed a Fail message. What else should I do?
