Watch as Jim Burnworth shows you why the Blazer® has been the # 1 hunting vane IN THE WORLD for over 10 years! With slow motion video filmed at 9,000 frames per second, watch the Blazer's performance come to life!
The Blazer® Vane has dropped more jaws, hung more trophies, convinced more skeptics, and provided more big silly grins than all the "knock-off", "wanna-be", "copy-cat" vanes combined! This is the vane that, hands down, out-performs them all! It's designed for fixed-blade broadheads but is also perfect for crossbows and 3D archery. The Blazer® Vane, with its unique design, begins steering and correcting immediately - making believers out of bow hunters and target shooters alike! The combination of the steep leading edge angle and its material properties enables air to flow over the vane in a manner that actually creates lift. This leaves the tip of each vane inside undisturbed air, similar to the drafting principle used in auto racing. This airflow also makes the tip of each vane to act like a rudder, which is noticeable at longer distances with the flatter trajectory Blazer® Vanes provide. We recommend fletching Blazer® vanes with a helical for perfect results.
What's in your quiver? If it doesn't say Blazer® and carry the Bohning® logo, it's not a REAL BLAZER. Only Bohning makes the Blazer Vane, and we proudly print our name on each one. It's not just the profile that sets us apart from look-a-likes, our proprietary material has been tested in extreme conditions to make sure it doesn't fail you when it really counts. Don't be fooled by copycats. If it doesn't say Bohning, it's not a Blazer and it won't perform like one.
The Blazer Vane measures 2" (50.8mm) in length, 0.57" (14.5mm) in height, and weighs an average of 6.0 grains (388.8 mg). Like all Bohning vanes, the base of the Blazer Vane is pre-primed for optimal adhesion.
Proudly manufactured at the Bohning Factory in Lake City, Michigan, United States.

anybody else notice how it slowly starts to spin clockwise because of the right helical then when it hits the mock chest cavity it comes out spinning counter clockwise?
@slimjim7411
@slimjim7411 9 жыл бұрын
Probably due to the elasticity of the gel and the spinning of the arrow. What actually happened was the arrow was spinning clockwise, and when it hit the gel it continued trying to spin, but the density, and elasticity almost like a bouncing ball causes the spin direction to reverse. If you increased the density of the gel the arrow would probably not spin at all coming out the other side unless the broadhead itself is designed to spin.

the arrow hits the target spinning clockwise the arrow exits the target counter clockwise the density of the gel grabs the tip and and broad head the kinetic energy of the arrow from the bow pushes the arrow while the gel actually reversed the arrow before the broad head blades touched the gel probably due to the profile of the broad head tip

No doubt this is a pretty convincing video, but compared to feathers how do these perform specifically with fixed broad-heads. I'm looking to switch to vanes since I'm getting a little sick of how delicate feathers are. But I also want consistent, accurate flight patterns with an economic compound pound and quality arrows. Anyone have experience with both?
@biophysique
@biophysique 9 жыл бұрын
+jonathan snyder True feathers will give you a more beautyfull arrow flight, not necessarily more accurate, with a magnificient sound. While vane will be faster, and more silent. Never shoot with both, I'm afraid, but I'll can ask at my club, there's people that play with both of them. In my opinion, if you want to go hunt, frist : what you are experienced with is the best. Second : faster is better. Hope it help you out.

I just noticed this but at four minutes and 40 seconds your helix is going the wrong way the reason why I know is that every bowstring has a natural twist ,string is put together you have to know which way that’s turning ,so it turns one way left helix and then it goes right helix direction for the rest of the way I don’t know if it really matters but I know it helps

I was given a ton of blazer veins last night as they were the scourge of the owners existence. I'll be performing some jig test with his own jig and see just what is wrong with this picture... by all accounts, they should be fine; however, there's a complaint of unpredictable trajectory. The owner can cut veins off at 30 yards on targets... curious why there's a problem! Bohning, any clues?

Before fletching, use a scrubbing powder to really clean the shaft, then wash good to get the residue off, then wipe clean with alcohol or denatured alcohol, then clean the base of the fletch and get all residue off, get a good glue like G5 Blu Glu. Your fletch will not come off.

You should have bare shaft shot it first. Bowtechs 99.9% of the time spin left. If you watch the slow motion you'll see that the arrow actually tries to go left then turns right due to the fletching configuration...
@chrisnaylor8384

And what makes that phenomenon really puzzling is the fact that the twists in the strings actually dictate the rotation of the arrow. So if you twist the strings the other direction, the arrow will follow suit.

There are new 'arrow launching' air rifles coming into the market. The arrow is fitted over the barrel. The thrust pressure is effectively moved from the rear of the arrow, to the front of the arrow. Slow motion video has shown that this removes the flex and oscillation of the arrow during flight. The result is a faster, flatter arrow trajectory. Although this is not technically archery anymore, the new ideas are worth noticing. The velocity can easily exceed 500 fps and the kinetic energy is 'off the charts' in comparison to traditional methods.

Chest cavities are surrounded by ribs. Your Ballistic gel is not so it's not really an objective test. I'd like to see an arrow thats passed through the rib cage of a real deer and see how many vanes are left on the shaft! Besides once the arrow has reached its target its done its job, so why the need to continue spinning after its hit?
