Hello and welcome to this week's video where I attempt to bleach my hair : SUPER MODEL WHITE 😱
Linda Evangelista famously wore her gorgeous white blonde hair and I decided to try it.
The end result was a bit darker and more beige-y but I'm still obsessed with it.

I liked the idea of trying hair colors but hate the idea of promoting the app to alter appearance to that degree. I think it just feeds into the toxic culture of beauty as perfection. You can have imperfections and still be beautiful.

@@armadymnin5522 They have been around for so long that they got really good at looking real. A lot of times its absolutely impossible to tell unless the edit is really badly done, and that doesnt make people "not smart". The only thing not smart here is pretending there is no such a thing as a toxic culture centered around the idea of beauty as perfection.

The first time I've not loved the outcome (which is pretty good odds concidering) It looks so patchy and dry. But I imagine a new colour is going to come pretty soon, so I'm sure that will be fixed. Would have loved to have seen the dark brown stick around a while, that looked gorgeous 😍

Agree. Stella is beautiful and can pull off anything but this color seems a little muddy to me or something? I have used the periwinkle in the past from Arctic Fox and it did something similar so maybe that’s what caused it. It just doesn’t do anything for her but again- she would wear a bag on her head and it would look good!

I think it was her toner that made her hair look more like dead grass or hay at the end because her ends were green before toner. Using a purple/indigo based toner over blue makes green stand out more since blue is one of the primary colors in green. Plus it was pretty dark and she applied it at the root first which made her roots purple. A pink based toner would have cancelled out the green better. Knowing Stella, she might already be trying to fix it.

😫😫 I don’t see an issue….I absolutely love the outcome of her hair!! Maybe it’s because I have naturally black hair and now that it’s short I want to bleach it blonde ☺️ What do y’all think? Stella is a doll by the way :)

I am actually sad that people use so many filters and editing apps bc it gives a very unrealistic view of people. Bc nobody's skin is perfectly smooth. I think it would be better to show realistic pictures so people can see that their ''imperfections'' are perfectly normal. Not saying stellla is promoting this btw just wanted to give my opinion on the matter. I understand it can be used in very different creative ways aswell.

Same, the fact that she actually editted her jawline/face to be smaller was kinda shocking. And then people ridicule young girls for getting plastic surgery and call them "vain" when they're being told they're ugly all day every day. Anyway, rant over.

Same thing I thought. I use to think airbrushed skin was the only way to be liked. It took me leaving a lot of toxicity behind and choosing to love myself just as I am to realize real skin has flaws, pimples, and pores. We are all beautifully made, don’t hide your beauty 💖

That is my current issue, the white/silver toner latched onto my roots and my ends are slightly yellow still. 😂 not too bad though. My hair needs a trim anyway.

She probably should have used a pinky based toner because her ends were green. After the toner it kind of looked like dead grass. Hopefully she can find a color that can fix what she did, honestly I don’t really like the color at all.

@@off.arretezvousx I know 😭, it's tough. I think it's hard to tone blonde hair especially when it has been previously dyed (even with semi permanent colour). It's hard to remove,... bleach should remove the leftover colour, but it doesn't always remove everything. It becomes uneven, because of freshly bleached roots. Toning is a whole colour theory process. 😂 just stress really, colour theory is freaking complicated on hair. It's so hard to get the perfect shade, when your hair isn't virgin hair. I'm sure she will fix the tone.

I had surgery on my head in 2020 which left me with a bald spot. I ended up shaving my hair. It's now about your length. It makes me feel a lot more confident about rocking short hair when I see women as beautiful as you rocking it the way you do ❤

I still see a slight orange tinge, and green, and now with lavender this is looking hella multi chrome magical! Love it that the roots are darker and more purple, looks so gorgeous, can't believe it's unintentional!

@@b_r_a_n it’s not that serious dude 💀 and nope everyone’s skin is different. My girlfriend skin is literally crystal clear without any hyperpigmentation when she takes her makeup off. Meanwhile I have freckles and dry texture just all over the place that only makeup hides. Hate to break it to you but “good” skin does exist. It’s okay to be bitter though I am too 😭

Being a hairdresser myself, I used to love watching all your videos of you coloring your hair and sometimes you would even shock me with how it turns out. This video unfortunately wasn't it. Very disappointed on how it turned out in the end. The color just looked very uneven and muddy looking. Its good that you always experiment so it probably won't be this color for long I'm sure lol.

Stella, the method was not bad at all but I can say you as a comment, that maybe the reason why your hair show so much the green pigment was the conditioner+silver dye that you apply first, because that silver dye, mixed with the yellow of the bleaching hair colour, it will always looked like this, in other words, you need to apply in that case, for example a hair dye, like 9.21 or 10.21 depending on how light your result was, but directly with those color of highlights and level of dye, now you can make an extraction of color (it's like a bleach process but shorter and less damaging) and then apply some blonde dye with the highlights that a I mentioned, or even other ones like 9.1 or 9.11, it's a very nice ashy natural blonde, and then leave your hair for a while and bleach it again to have a platinum blonde color, it's very difficult to lift your hair from a black so easy and so even, so you need to apply a blonde dye with a natural level color like a 8 or 9 first, hope it helps you to see your bads ;)

I can say this is my least favorite of all! I loved your medium length emerald green 😕 style honestly. I myself am coming from a pixie cut style hair and sadly damaged my hair when I was supposed to let it heal I kept dying it like you. And now I’m back at it trying to let it heal again.

Use K18 on it. My hair has suffered a lot since having Covid and fell out and got weak I had to have it cut into a lob I now use K18 as it’s supposed to be great on poorly hair especially bleached

It was not a good idea to mix silver semi permanent with blue pigments in it on fresh bleached hair. It was quite predictable that it might turn greenesh. Not a wow effect, to patchy and 'by accident' but I love when Stella is doing wired things to her hair! 🤪😁

Bleach ends of hair and mid lengths first, on second bleach do roots. You will get a even colour. Because your head produces heat, the roots will go very light and develop quicker. 9%/30vol for mid lenghts and ends and 6%/20vol for roots. Wrap hair in cater wrap to keep heat in and check after first 30 mins.

I thought 10 and below volume developers were for depositing only, not lifting? Also love how Stella gets on her soapbox about how healthy her hair is but recently has bleached it so much you can see how dry it is

That is true for colours, not for bleach :) As long as you "activate" bleach with a developer, it'll give you a lift.

As far as I understand, in bleaching the developer and the bleaching powder/cream do kind of 50/50 job, so even if you use 10 you can still get the lifting effect, it’s just going to be very mild (like Stella did, just to take out the orange on the ends). In hair dyeing the lifting part belongs only to the developer & 10 or 3% can’t lift anything on its own - so it helps to deposit only

A hairdresser friend of mine always uses 10vol bleach on my roots, and it lifts it to a level 9 every time with the help of the heat from my scalp

I just rewatched this and realized we got a VERY similar skintone. I do believe our natural hair colors are also at least close to each other. I also tan similarly to you if I try. I had my hair bleached to white for about 5 years and went brunette this year because that's closer to my natural hair color and I wanna grow it. We give off a similar impression with the light but relatively soft hair color. It takes away from our coloring but creates some sort of impact that many other people - for whatever reason - seem to find very beautiful. It's like a disharmony that creates something interesting. But I definitely prefer your look (and mine) with a warmer hair color. My hair accidentally turned copper today and I was stunned by how well it suits me. I haven't had my hair this darker copper before, only very light and rather soft versions of coppers and they don't look as nice on me (they lack depth basically) but this one? Amazing. This video just made me understand why I suddenly didn't like that color on me anymore and what actually was "wrong" with it. I just don't get why I never realized that before and kept this color for such a long time.

Honestly? I think silver is not your thing. Sorry, your skills are amazing, don't get me wrong but every time you try to achieve the perfect silver color you always get the same result: not silver. This color you got is the same oddly greenish grey you created on your two previous clients, the only difference is that you save the look with the make-up but the color itself is...old

You're one of the channels that my daughter watches for hair tips, and I watched this one for the first time, with her today. I don't like that you endorse filters or any other ways to falsify your image online, as I try to teach my daughter that being perfect is an illusion and that her self-esteem is not based on looking flawless. That being said, I chuckle that you completely botched your hair on this one.

I Screamed no so loud when you decided to use AF Sterling, i knew instantly that it would turn your hair green... ive made the mistake of using sterling and it turned my hair such a bad shade of minty green and was so hard to get out of my hair :( if you had gone straight from bleached to the guytang colors it would have turned out much more icy and closer to your goal

a silk scarf will become your best friend with short hair. if you have some stubborn hair that won't go down just wrap silk scarf around your head tightly for at least 15 mins

For my fine asian hair, my stylist did low and slow to lift my hair from a level 3 to level 9. 20 volume in a 2 to 1 ratio. Took almost 7 hours, some heat, lots of foil, and some touch ups during the process, but only one process was done to the hair and it was not splotchy. It was all virgin hair though.

I dont bleach/dye my hair yet i still got sad when the steps for mixing the developer and bleach were cut off too abruptly, therefore missing the measurements... same with the K18 i didnt understand what it is or what it contains etc...why am i like this

Loving the transformation! I bleached hair with vol 10 and it's awesome (hair is stubborn as well, but not straw). I'd recommend trying semi-permanent colors (my country has only wella color touch) after 20 washes you can have a different color. I'm on my 3rd shade of light blond !! It's awesome for experimenting because it's not permanent.

Wellll toning outcomes were to be expected since the ends were a lot darker and more yellow than the roots 😅 just had to bleach the ends another time and it would've been goodd!

putting a little red/pink on the hair color wouldve neutralized the green and make it more neutral blonde.. love the hair cut though,suits you soo well ❤️

Ohhh you should put 8sp or mix them and make 9sp and put it on top. A dusty lavender ice next. That would look incredible on you. This is beautiful too of course. You can pull anything off

I liked the video the filter and the hair color....who cares if someone wants to add a filter as long as at the end of the day they know who they are...common people....I use them sometimes and sometimes I just don't care either way I think Stella is experimental and she is probably looking at it from a creative side .....as long as it's just for fun like the hair color then all is well but if you use it because you don't like yourself then that's different but don't make it like she is promoting it that way ...you are jumping the gun and making assumptions....anyway I like the color and the experiment great video as always

I don't want to be all negative, but I really don't think its a good idea to do an ad for an app with all those filters, it can send the wrong message. To see what kind of hair color would suit you best is a fun way to use it, but showing all those edits and filters to hide any 'imperfections' sort of rubs me the wrong way. I really like watching your videos and seeing all the cool things you do with your hair, but I'm going to unsibscribe for now because I honestly don't want to see that kind of stuff or be confronted with it
