Something that really rubbed me the wrong way about this episode was Spike's attitude. Why did he shrug when Ocellus asked why Rockhoof was gonna be turned to stone? He knew why, he was THERE when Twilight and Rockhoof were arguing and HEARD Rockhoof's reason for why he wanted the spell cast! They made it seem like Spike didn't care about Rockhoof not fitting in, which contradicts everything we know about Spike!

This episode is good fun! It’s great to see the rest of the Pillars getting used to the modern world, same goes for Stygian too.

Why does rockhoofs voice have to sound so amazing

I love the message this sends, also I like how they showed off how many jobs he failed at because in the real world it can take quite a while to find your place and it is easy to give up. I can only hope for the good this might do for viewers with relatives in Rockhoof's spot in life now, be it because of age or major changes in life (returning service members come to mind) and how we need to be supportive and helpful to them.

Anyone thinking the stars would've changed so little in that amount of time so it would've been slightly more accurate and a better reasoning would be because he didn't know the land/sea scape? No? Just me? Ok

One thing I like about this episode is that rockfoot felt like he didn't belong anywhere that he couldn't adapt or fit in wktg society and was kicked down everytime he tried to contribute but in the end it wasn't a purpose or a job that kept him it was being accepted by others and them wanting him Sometimes when we feel like giving up in life having others love us and need us is enough The children didn't care if he didn't fit in they wanted him and twilight made up a place for him to be Like being a parent, a child, a friend Sometimes being something to someone else is enough to be a purpose

Hate it when people say great vid 5 mins within upload. You obviously havent watched it all yet. Anyways i really liked this episode, it really hits close as someone who is always "living in the past."

This episode is implying one of two things; either suicide or imprisonment. Honestly, Rockhoof being freed, not fitting in and wanting to go back to being a prisoner fits a little better. Mainly because it was mentioned twice, in this episode, that the spell can be reversed later. One way or another, the subject matter is indeed *deep.*

Many people say that him asking to be turned into stone is like a form of assisted suicide. But there are worse things than death. "Being turned to stone doesn't mean I can't hear everything Celestia says." I'm sure you remember Fallout Equestria... two or ten centuries to just watch and listen... When we were introduced to Rockhoof I figured on Nordic Vikings. When he first spoke in Shadow Play, I thought maybe it was good enough to be kind of Nordic-ish, but he didn't say much and he had a... "dark tone" in his voice? Now his accent seems different so that theory died, especially with the mention of Coltic ancestry. So, yeah, Scottish Vikings. Or, you know, "a Stoick accent". ;P

Really liked this one too. It just felt different than most episodes. It felt really smooth, and quiet.

I hate the archaeologist pony from the beginning. Her argument is “We must preserve these priceless historical artifacts, so that one day, after decades of speculation, we can uncover a half-decent theory.” Rockhoof could’ve won the argument by saying: “I was there, I could just tell you everything that happened. And, you know, a lot of this stuff was mine, you can’t just tell me not to touch it. I get that it’s been a millennia since I was last here, but I own a lot of stuff.” She could’ve retorted with “No, that’s it, you’re fired!”, but he could’ve just said “I don’t even work for you, I’m just here to dig up my house and dead family to bury them properly. Also, have you ever heard of conditioner?” Then she went to princess twiggles and was all “Make rockhoof go away, he’s fucking up my shit!” but she would’ve just gone: “Actually it’s his shit.” “why?” “Because, he’s the last remaining survivor of his village, so his village, his shit.”
