Last year I moved to the USA and left my two best friends. I remember being super mad at my parents at first but I didn’t have a say in it. I saw this episode and quickly showed my friends! They were so shocked at how it seemed just like us! Though the ending was quite differently, but we decided to see it as if the fandom will always make us be best friends even though we are 1,500 miles away, they are still my best friends 💕 And this 3:33 was literally the best scene ever in Applegeek history!

Also, it makes sense as to why Scootaloo can't fly now. I don't know if it's a disorder, it could easily be because her dad is an Earth Pony.

And that is why I had really strong mixed feelings about this episode, and why I still hate her parents (who landed on my Worst Pony list in CotLM). You haven't been a part of your daughter's life for years. As far as I'm concerned, you're the *definition* of deadbeat parents. Rainbow Dash is more of a parent to her than either of you. You don't get to be gone for years, miss every single formative moment of Scootaloo's life, and then show up out of the blue to uproot her from her home, friends, and career. As far as I'm concerned, you made your choice (a choice that has given her some clear issues: see Parental Glideance) and you don't get to suddenly take it back. Maybe it's emotional baggage from my own childhood (I was in... a similar boat to Scootaloo when I was her age, in terms of absent parents), but I spent the entire episode wanting Scoot to tell them to piss off back to the jungle. "Blood =/= Family" was probably the most painful lesson I had to learn as a child.

Your reaction to the fact that Scootaloo's parents were coming was more than I ever hoped for. XD

To me it is important to look at how long scootaloo has been in town and relying on them to take care of her. Her parents have been absent for many many years and the town has become her family in my eyes, trying to just uproot her from the town at this point is very selfish of the parents to me. Perhaps they feel guilty and about the long absence and are overcompensating for it?

To be honest: why did they bring up Scoots' parents now, in the last season? We always had the believe, that she was an orphan: no parents or even guardians in sight and Scoots always looked for a replacement for them, like RD, the CMCs and even the Washouts. Especially an episode like "Parental Glideance" showed, that she never got any backup by them, or compliments or love, what made me personally guess, that they weren't around anymore, most likely dead. Wouldn't especially RD try to talk to them earlier, like in the "Hearts strong as horses"-episode? We know that she isn't quite the sensitive one, and there were several situations where parents could have helped (guardians could have helped too, like her Aunts, but it's the parents job to care for an underage child). I like that you got so exited about it, but it's the worst kind of pandering. With this lazy build-up, even Bright Macintosh and Pear Butter still could be around or at least one of them (for example Bright Macintosh: we saw Pear Butter's desperation after her family left her. What if it didn't get better and she died after AB's birth? Bright Macintosh could have tried to bring Grand Pear back and stayed away from the family after he wouldn't succeed out of pure shame. It also would explain why AJ would try to leave her family at a young age to live with another tribe of the family: her disappointment with her dad (she wasn't wearing his hat when she left))

I think you may have missed the part where it's said that Scootaloo's parents study the rare animals and plants to come up with important medicines and such. So, their work is pretty specific and important. Could other ponies do it? Maybe, but the parents said no one had their experience and couldn't just take over for them. Like most parents, they did take Scootaloo's feelings into account, but also like most parents, they pretty much decide for the kid in situations like moving. I think if the town hadn't given weight to the CMC's claims, the parents would still just see the CMC as important, but very small. They needed the aid of seeing just what the group had done and how far it reached.

It happens fast but with good timing, if you pause the video at 13:47, you get to see the C.M.C slightly braking the forth wall by looking down at the bottle Apple Bloom places on the floor, making it look like they are looking down at us the viewers. It might take a few tries to get it as Sweetie Belle blinks before they all look down, but it's fun to mess with if you want to try, like I said above, it happens fast so good reflexes and luck are needed. Also if you pause at 18:08, you get to see Sweetie Belle also break the fourth wall by looking at us as the camera pans/spins around the C.M.C.

Honestly, this episode had a lot of heart, I did see a few things coming a mile away, but they did handle it in a sweet way that felt very genuine...it did kind of annoy me of how they just didn't get the message till the town literally pounded it into their heads, but...I was happy they understood just how important their roll in the world is.

Honestly I found this episode....decent. Not bad, not amazing. My biggest issue is that....nothing changes. For such a big event as Scootaloo's parents showing up and her being forced to pick between her life here or her parents, nothing really....happens. She gets to stay, her folks are still basically ditching her. I'm not saying their jobs AREN'T important but gosh dang, you barely see your kid! Either commit to being a parent or work closer to home! Like....if only there was some kinda...animal place near Ponyville...like a reserve or something for animals....run by a friend of the CMC....that some knowledgeable animal researchers could work at and educate youngins on creature care or behaviors...ya know, something that could allow them to remain close to home and be involved while still getting to do their work. HINT HINT I'm sure I'll get flack for this but I'm sorry, it's just bugging me how little impact this really had.

Well since the tital is inspired from indiana jones, i guess it means its the last CMC episode in the final season.

40:53 I totally agree with you. Magic is the factor of earth pony's sense to ground and etc, and pegasus to weather. Pegasus can't fly without magic because their wings are too small for them (comparing their wing area and bipedal height, then this ratio to that of a bird irl), plus they could no longer fly when Mr. Tirek absorbed their magic. Gene is definitely the most possible explanation. Lots of natural disabilities are caused by genetic issues, such as from close marriage. Or Scoot clipped her wings in her foalhood but who knows...

I noticed that Aunt Holiday & Snap Shutter have a thing for pegasi (since their spouces are that pony species). And it's funny how Loftie is the one that does all baking & quilting, something one think that would be more of Holiday's job being the "cutesy-nice" aunt (while Loftie behaves like the cranky but loving aunt). Also, after hearing what Scootaloo said about her parents in "Parental Guildense," fans come to the conclusion that Scootaloo's parents are one of the worst parents in animation.😕

This episode was amazing in so many ways. We got to see Scootaloo’s parents but what also makes me really happy is that the producers included a LGBTQ couple which are her aunts. As far as I know this is the first time they include LGBTQ couples in the series and it just makes me happy that they finally did it. But anyways loved your reaction Applegeek💜

His very first blind reaction was to Crusaders of the Lost Mark - the one where the CMCs got their cutiemarks - and now this might be the last Crusaders episode in Friendship is Magic. 39:39-42:04 Applegeek thinks Scootaloo might not be able to fly because she's more earth pony like her father than pegasus like her mother. All in all, this story has been long overdue. And it delivered more than what we were anticipating. For the longest time, we've been lead to believe that Scootaloo was an orphan and her parents were dead - either that or they were uncaring/abusive. However, when this was revealed to be Gallus' backstory (The Hearth's Warming Club), it seemed unlikely we'd ever get to learn the truth about Scootaloo. Fortunately, we did. Not only did this episode reveal her parents are alive and well, but they have a very good relationship with their daughter. Plus, it explains why they haven't been around in a way that's believable and fits in with the series' continuity. Then there's the moving away scenario. I'm sure some people think the episode would've worked better if they'd gone through with Scootaloo leaving; it would've been more realistic and emphasised how nothing stays the same forever. Personally, though, I didn't mind them not taking this route. Her reasons for staying are justified, and we already have things like the princesses retiring, the Mane 6 taking their place, and the show itself coming to an end to emphasise that point. The more things change the more they stay the same, as they say. I don't know if this will really be the last CMC story. But if it is, what an honourable way to go out. Anyway, that's all I have to say for this episode. Applegeek still has one more before he's all caught up - and it's another special one. Let's see what he thinks of it.

In my opinion, the reason because Scootaloo can't fly is because she has both earth pony magic and pegasus magic mixed into her, and therein lies her "disability" because physically she is the same as any other pegasus fully capable of flight, that's why she can stand on the clouds but not fly, and I say that it is a disability because the children of the Cakes (who are earth ponies) are a pegasus and a unicorn and they are fully capable of using their races abilities, so that is not the origin of the problem but rather that the magic was mixed, something like if it was DNA or something oh, and what about the wings of Bulk Biceps?? They are tiny and the guy is a muscle mass and can fly (in case you didn't know, muscles are heavier than fat) also, Scootaloo's wings are not weak, she can carry herself and the other CMC at full speed to the crystal kingdom or even carry extra weight like Pinkie Pie in an episode or a cart full of things, however, anatomically speaking they should not be good for flying, neither hers nor any other pegasus pony, they all have wings very small, the problem is that they have flight magic in their wings while Scootaloo doesn't: and just see what they can do with those cheap wings: they can stay in the air (like a hummingbird) just by flapping them slightly, fly backwards, forwards, sides, up and down, make a sonic boom, fly upside down!!! What animal does that??? They do flight routines like wonderbolts, in the breezies episode they even regulate the amount of wind they exert by flapping their wings ALL WHILE THEY STILL FLY LIKE NOTHING!!! But it seems that they float instead of flying, and yes, we know that bees don't know anything about aerodynamics and still fly, so ponies are the same, right?? no, because that doesn't even apply here anymore, bees are not excellent fliers, pegasus ponies are, and it seems that flying is not even difficult for them.
