To be honest, Cozy Glow is my second favourite villain in the show (with Adagio Dazzle being number one and Storm King number three), mainly because she did so much evil while still only being a little girl with no special powers of her own. And also for the fact that she's the show's best example of a true psychopath. Unlike all the other villains, especially Chrysalis, she didn't see friendship as a weakness, and knew that it was the reason why Twilight and her friends always won, so she tried to use it herself to become more powerful than everyone else. Not to mention the fact that in this finale alone, she managed to play Twilight, the school of friendship, Neighsay and even master manipulator himself Tirek as her little band of puppets without even a hint of remorse. On top of all that, she's a just a little filly...which makes her all the more disturbing. That's my take on her character at least, for most of this reaction, it felt like you were mostly just waiting for her to be Chrysalis and got disappointed when she wasn't.

Even when she first showed up, Cozy Glow was interested in friendship as power-- the elements of harmony. Her motivation isn't bad. It's an interesting take on the whole friendship 'taste the rainbow' thing. She sees friendship as the most powerful force in this world. More powerful than all other magics. She sees it as a means to an end, but doesn't *actually* ...get... real friendship. She gets manipulation and false friendship. She hasn't learned her lesson because as far as she's concerned, she's right and Twilight and friends are fools, so she doesn't think she has a lesson to learn. As for Tirek, he is currently powerless and in he was intrigued by Cozy Glow's plan and was eager to lord his 'superiority' over Twilight and friends for all eternity. That was his motivation there. Short sighted, true, but I imagine it beat just sitting and rotting in Tartarus.

The deal with Cozy Glow is that she wanted power, and she saw friends as a means to get that power. She said it herself: "Friendship isn't magic; friendship is POWER." To her, the more friends someone has, the more powerful they can be. Or, more specifically, the more friends you have, the more people you have to use, manipulate, and take advantage of to get what you want. THAT'S her motivation; to achieve power by "collecting," as she puts it, enough friends to take over Equestria and crown herself the "Empress of Friendship." This is why Cozy is my favorite villain in the series; she understands how powerful friendship can be, and uses it to her advantage. I have a feeling she will be back. You can't end the episode the way they did and NOT have Cozy Glow return, probably with Tirek. Speaking of Tirek, the reason he wanted magic gone was the same as why Cozy wanted magic gone: to trap the Mane SIx in Tartarus. For him, it was revenge, and for her, it was to ensure that they didn't interfere with her plan. Cozy was going to trap Starlight in Tartarus as well, but she stayed behind so Cozy had to improvise.

Apparently Galas is the element of Magic/sorcery. He was glowing purple like the element. Ocelus was Generosity/beauty, Smolder was I think Loyalty/bravery, Yona was Kindness/healing? Silverstream was laughter/hope. I remember someone saying that before and it is pretty awesome. I think I got these right.

But if Cozy Glow was Chrysalis or anything but a pony, then Chancellor Neigh-Say wouldn't have been proven wrong. In fact, it would've confirmed his believes.

Chrysalis might be a shape-shifter, but even her schemes in the season 2 and 6 finales and "The Mean 6" didn't show the level of intricate manipulation Cozy Glow showed this season. There is a reason her cutie mark is a rook from a chess set. I said this on other reactors' channels but Chrysalis working with Cozy would be a great series finale... especially if Tirek were also involved.

Cozy is an interesting case. Her motivation is something very simple and shallow- a desire for power. I would say it was a shite motive, if people in real life weren't motivated by similar things. Desire for power or money is at the root of most the real world's problems. But the truly interesting thing about cozy is her contrast against every other friendship-based character. Even starlight only ever wanted friends for the sake of it- to fill the void sunburst left in her heart. Twilight didn't become friends with the rest of the mane 6 to, say, wield the elements of harmony. She became friends with them simply because she wanted to. Well, she didn't at first, but that's part of the point. Cozy never cared about making friends or helping other ponies. She just wanted power and influence, and saw the magic of friendship as a neat little shortcut to get it. She's a right little sociopath, she is. Motive-wise, she is closest to Chrysalis, but even the changeling queen has the potential to be reformed, maybe. Cozy is best left to rot.

Quite a shift in villains. Neighsay was looked upon as the likely villain, but that was just a red herring after witnessing the true culprit is.... Pony Darla Dimple!

People say that this thing with Mane 6 and Tirek was pointless but in my opinion it was very interesting and gave so much information about how magic works

After that episode "I met her 15 years ago I was told there's nothing left; no reason,no words,no conscience,no understanding and even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year old foal with this blank,pale emotionless face and the reddest eyes-the devil's eyes. You know, there was something interesting that happened when all the magic returned. If you looked closely at 45:31, Twilight, Rarity, AND Pinkie Pie had a magical orb return to them, but the others didn't. Pinkie Pie has magic confirmed. I mean, It's probably obvious that it's her Pinkie Sense... or Fourth Wall breaking power or something. :p

If I was Tirek I would be yelling for Luna to put Cozy Glow on the other side of Tartarus, not right next to my spot!

This was Tirek's Fourth Season Birthday Anniversary, at least it's his birthday in Gen 4. It seems like forever since Twilight opened the Magic Tree Chest as Pinkie called it.

Cozy Glow's motivation is fairly easy to understand once you realize she's a textbook psychopath. She's actually an extremely well-written and complex character, and one of the best villains the show's ever had. I put her on par with Starlight Glimmer.

This is a fantastic finale. I figured Cozy Glow would be the villain. Cozy Glow makes a great villain. It's great that the students saved the day this time.

They'd even hold you captive til the Guard comes to arrest you. 48:42 you know, some people have said putting Cozy in Tartarus was going too far for punishment, but remember what Cadance said at the beginning? She was worried about the Crystal Heart, a magical artifact. Once it lost its magic, the Crystal Empire would've been buried by the blizzards of the frozen North and the ponies there would've been frozen to death if magic hadn't been returned. Cozy was willing to commit mass genocide to get what she wanted, knowing full well that's what would happen. I'm sorry, child or not, that means Tartarus is a fitting punishment, as far as I'm concerned.

I knew I wasn't crazy at the start of the episode... Silverstream was at the school, then somehow, she's with the class at Cloudsdale. I mean, that wouldn't be a problem if Twilight and Cozy mentioned the whole field trip that Twilight was late for, which one would then assume that Rainbow Dash and the class were already there at Cloudsdale. That little detail is just going to bug me now XD

I honestly don't know how *anyone* came to the conclusion that Cosy Glow is a villain from just episode 12 (her first appearance), let alone most of the fandom. So Cozy Glow was a wolf in sheep's clothing. She acted cute and helpful, while all this time she was a criminal mastermind and a power hungry lunatic, like Sunset Shimmer. I think this is the first time we have seen a juvenile delinquent in the series. It's a good thing that the students, the mane 6, the princesses, and the royal guards were able to stop her, and Neighsay admitted that he was wrong about using friendship as a weapon against ponies. He might turn over a new leaf. However it's too early to celebrate. It's obvious that Cozy and Tirek will join forces to escape from Tartarus and seek revenge. And Chrysalis is still out there. If the three of them team up, Equestria is going to be in grave danger. Since Chrysalis knows where the Elements of Harmony are, if she and Tirek would absorb the elements power, not only will it give them great power, but I think they'll transform Cozy into a demon pony to make her their helper, similar to what Sunset Shimmer did to Snips and Snails. How would Cozy's parents react to that? Maybe they will appear next season, but if Cozy transforms into a demon I think they'll be scared to stop her. And if Chrysalis and Tirek find a way to revive the Storm King and King Sombra Equestria is going to be in even bigger danger. And why didn't Tempest Shadow, Queen Novo and Princess Skystar appeared in the season? It's true that Queen Novo appeared in Silver Stream's Hearth's warming story but that doesn't matter. If Emily Blunt(Tempest's voice), Uzo Aduba(Novo's voice) and Kristin Chenoweth(Skystar's voice) are too expensive can't the writers find cheaper voice actresses? Guess it's easier said than done. I hope Queen Novo will appear next season and she'll give Twilight and her friends magic pearl necklaces as a sign of forgiveness, a reward for defeating the Storm King, for educating her niece, and for helping her nephew decide where to live. And if the Storm King revives next season the ponies will really need the hippogriffs help. The ponies might also need the help of Tempest, and in exchange the princesses will find a way to restore her horn. Star Swirl might also assist in that. Maybe next season we'll find out how did Cozy become Tirek's protégé. Also Cozy was talking about taking the magic to another realm. I think that might have something to do with next year's March Equestria girls movie.

I liked this finale but, not as as much as I should. Why? Because I was spoiled on a major villain’s return(and my favorite at that), Tirek. This happened way back before S8 started due to freakin leakers and people not keeping quiet about it! (Sigh) Aside from all that, this finale was really good and I look forward to to what’s in store for us in S9. Great reaction’s as well BurningAxe!

Such a fun finale, loads better than last season. Cozy will return, I'm sure. Neighsay's redemption was super surprising, but confronting racism with kindness is very timely. At least, here in the United States it is. Because we suck.

Well... I strongly disagree with you, sorry if I get passive agressive with this comment, I tend to do that XD Cozy is my favorite villan in this show, she is the perfect villan for me 1. You seem to forget that we're definitely not done with her, I mean they can't end the episode like this and never come back to it, reveling her backstory now would be a stupid thing to do 2. I just love how manipulative and deliciously evil she is, while watching the reaction I had a feeling that you skipped over the best parts where her character really shined but I guess that depends on what you demand from villans 3. She was shown BEFORE the finale, I mean how many villans in this show can do that? I love what they have done with her in that field because (And I'm not counting what lies beneath here because they made it obvious there) you could have told that something was off with her but you couldn't quite put your finger on it, that is a masterpiece on the animators side, and her cutie mark is a great touch as well 4. She is so smart, I *ADORE* smart villans, they are so entertaining to watch and make best plans that actually challenge the main character and it doesn't just come down to "Who is the strongest" or shit like that. I generally think Cozy diserved to win this time, I don't know what her motives are but the plan she came up with is genius and she would have won, except it's a cartoon and we can't do that so the writers came up with something to defeat her... seriously this time it wasn't even "the student's Friendship" it's just that the tree got mad, which was stupid on her side to make her base under a tree that potentially could be a treat to her... I have my theory for it but since "it wasn't said in the show" noone will accept it 5/4.5 that's kinda the same as 4 but she is a quick thinker, and that's also a great thing to give your villain XD I love how after locking CMC in that closet literally in seconds she was able to come up with a really good plan based only on her deductions I love some other things about her as well but it's hard to make an argument out of them so I just won't write them I know that most of those things are subjective stuff and what appeals to me can make someone else angry but I think that that's what most people think a good villan should be like, I'd really like to convince you to her so if you're not convinced than write what you dislike about her
