I don't really think you understood Diamond Tiara's situation. If she failed at anything, she was mentally and emotionally abused. Her entire life. So yes, it caused her to act out in order to do "whatever it took to win in the end" so her parents wouldn't be "ashamed" of her. She didn't grow up with the love of a parent, but two parents who taught her money is power and the only importance in life. There are people in real life who are raised like this and using Diamond Tiara to help illustrate this issue was brilliant. I started crying as soon as Spoiled Rich came into the picture because it hit me right then and there, this entire time, Diamond Tiara has never been bad. She's always cared about them, even Silver Spoon knew that. She tried singing it "You could probably win this election if you showed them all you really care" but Diamond cut her off before she could say "care" because her reputation would've been questioned. (Reputation as in family rich pony rep, not hers alone - everything Diamond Tiara did reflected on her FAMILY, not her as an individual) I love Diamond Tiara, and her story hit me like a punch to the gut. Poor thing was getting abused the entire time and no one knew. Teaches us that even in real life, most "bullies" are only the way they are because they are hurting on the inside or fighting their own battled we know nothing about. I personally think this is the best lesson of the series, and I'm glad it took helping Diamond Tiara for them to earn their marks. It was perfect.

Ummm...... everyone who realizes a mistake has to realize it at some point, before which they don't see it. Your argument about Diamond Tiara really doesn't hold up too well. She DID see that there was a problem - after something drastic got her attention. Before that, she had Silver Spoon to back her up, and was being taught by her mom, so since that was her entire life, she hadn't seen the error. Saying she should have sen that there was something wrong is kind of a circular argument, since we see her realize the error.

A lot of people also don't seem to realize that DT couldn't just change whenever she wanted because of the way she was raised. She was raised by fear and pride in the place of love and compassion. Fear was what made it difficult to change. Thinking about change is one thing but actually doing it is a lot more difficult.

I know things like DT's situation are real. My mum was a teacher and she told me once that alot of bullies had a tough life at home. Some didn't even want to go home due to the drama.

I'm surprised that the DT song didn't immediately make you feel sorry for her you're part of a rare breed. The 1% being a couple of reviewers I believe. The idea behind their cutie marks could be a spin-off show idea in of itself especially since that was the orginal idea behind the CMC a show geared towards preschoolers. I actually want to see DT temporarily fall like Discord did and be brought back. This actually remind me a lot of MMC spending most of the time on DT's redemption then a little bit and a song on the CMC and their cutie marks just like spending most of MMC on the switched cutie marks then a little bit plus a song about Twilight's coronation. I only wish that that next episode focused on this like Princess Twilight Sparkle and EqG did with Princess Twilight but... this looks to be the last CMC episode of the season making me wonder what they'll be seen doing in the background.

This would have been a great 2 parter to end a season with. We don't always need to open and close on a villain episode. We need a more fleshed out version of what we just got. Also those symbols inside the shields of their cutie marks could mean a secondary talent. Sweetie Belle still got a musical note in there so maybe she can still be a talented singing star.

99% of the fanbase wasn't "wrong", it's just that their cutie marks is triple layered, so more complex than the average pony. They got their individual talents which was expected and the fanbase was right about, but also a shared destiny that was unexpected, but very welcome as it will help provide a continuous plot and goal for them to pursue. :3 As for Silver Spoon, I always pointed out to others that she was the fuel that kept Diamond Tiara going. I'm glad they had her turn her back on DT, because it made this episode so much more believable, at least for me.

After Discord, another villain turned good in this series.

Finally this storyline about discovering Cutie Marks is over. Finally we can all move on.

10:00 In literally 30 seconds they changed all of us from "I HATE DIAMOND TIARA!" to "Oh, am I feeling things for Diamond Tiara? Do I want her redeemed?"

This episode seemed to me (and many others) like the CMC's equivalent of Magical Mystery Cure; song-heavy episode, pacing a bit rushed to fit into a standard episode, and the characters at the focus of the episode experience a major change at the climax.

Meh. I had a crisis like that, too though. I thought I had to act shy like one girl to have people like me when I was super young, and I actually went for it, and it took me a long time to finally shrug that off and just be what came naturally to me.

When diamond tiara calls them blank flanks it's just a bratty line, when spoiled rich says it it sounds like a racial slur

Actually, their special talent isn't just helping others find their cutie mark, but more on helping others understand and shed light on the real purpose of their cutie marks(DT and Trouble Shoes so far), hence the final stanza of the "Light of Your Cutie Mark" song :D Also, I believe this simply shows more that DT's attitude is by mere upbringing, and while perhaps her stuck up mother acting like that works in the "elite" community to seem high and mighty, kids just don't care and yet she only knows what her mom teaches her. I guess we can see here that these fillies are pretty much starting to mature, like Sweetie being able to use her magic more prominently, Applebloom(well, the CMCs actually) is more understanding, Silver Spoon now being able to stand up for herself, and DT finally considering that she(and her mother) is wrong and finally stands up to her mother, showing that phase where we're driven towards independence.:D That's my interpretation though and I loved the reaction!
