I'm going to be cycling through thumbnails as the day goes on. It's a fairly common strategy on KZfaq. The idea is that if a subscriber sees this video with one thumbnail that doesn't interest them they may not click it, but another thumbnail may be better at catching their attention.

Jay I hate to point this out but there's still a mistake in the video. I looked it up and there are actually more than three people that play Hearthstone. I couldn't find any exact figures but I estimate it's at least a dozen.

Game Informer said it best in their April issue a few years back, on a "column" on a fake Square Enix mobile game called "Chocobowling". IIRC, it "was" a game that was free to download, and you got the first ball free, but each subsequent ball was $99.99 USD Blizzard has officially become that.

@@Naokarma actually no, I'm sick of people making excuses in general. In this case "oh, I dont suck at the game, its p2w, that's why they beat me, I'm entitled to free stuff". Compared to other mobile games HS is one of the cheapest. SWGOH for instance requires approx. 600 euros/m to stay relevant to the meta, and the content is behind actual paywall, not currency that you can grind out. So let's keep it civil and constructive here, ok. My viewpoint is based on IRL interactions with peers and employees. The - search for excuse and rant, not fir solution attitude is attributed to those who are lazy, docile... underachievers. That attitude translate to income and tends to drag them down. So yeah - poor people suck. See, if you dont have the money - dont buy it, you are not entitled to it. Simple as that. I want a Lambo for a weekend or two in a Q to drive around. I cant afford the extra sportscar. Do I make a video how greedy Lamborgini are and how I'm entitled to their product? Same here. If you cant trow 10 euro for a game you sink Lyons of hours in to enjoy - find a way to make the money. The guy who made the video found it - making hate videos for suckers like you to enjoy, same as Kripp. And you tools eat it, ask for more , spend at their streams. See - poor people suck

When a micro transaction costs more than a brand new AAA game, it's not a micro transaction anymore. It's just a transaction. And what does paying $60 a year get you instead of a new game every year? Not having a disadvantage for a year in a "free to play" game. This is the reason I don't play hearthstone. At least in overwatch, the only things found in lootboxes and behind micro transactions are purely cosmetic.

people buying games because they're good seems to be a foreign concept nowadays. Like even trying to make a game actually good seems almost taboo, it's just "standard" to push out a broken game that leaches as much from the players. But then again, who can justify the cost of even rudimentary testing when players will gladly buy and even pre-order stuff anyway,even if they had been burned by the last installments and know they're not going to actually like this one either
@TOONYBOY
@TOONYBOY 4 жыл бұрын
@Michal Blaszczak That's up for debate actually. I like it too but I've heard some people take issue with the fact that they have nearly £200 of separate content in some of their games in story packs and expansions. Now people always phrase it "Paradox makes me pay £200 for a complete game" to which I would reply (admittedly anecdotal, do with it what you will) "I had the base game of Stellaris on console in 1.7 for quite a while and the game never felt incomplete to me, whenever I read up on the content of the expansions it always felt like an Expansion, not just pieces of a game" and even after playing them I still stand by that. The updates provide the framework for the DLCs and Expansions but the Expansions provide new ways to play the game.
@TOONYBOY
@TOONYBOY 4 жыл бұрын
@Michal Blaszczak I'll just start off by saying that it's not very constructive to say "This is fine because others do it worse", game devs should be trying to do the best they can, not be just be slightly better than the bottom of the barrel. Again, I'm with you on this, I like the Paradox model, but that doesn't mean that there's absolutely no merit to the other side of the argument. And just because the content takes 5 years to come out just hammers in the point some people are making, games are released "incomplete" (Like I said, I personally wouldn't use that word for Stellaris but the concept definitely applies to other games and developers) and are slowly fixed and completed through paid content rather than everything being free updates (again, Stellaris does both, the updates are completely free and add a boat load of new stuff as well as making room for Expansions which I would say do in fact expand on the game.)

Frost Lich Jaina could literally win games on her own since you basically only needed removal because you can create freezing healing elementals. Bloodreaver Gul'Dan laughs at puny Jaraxxus that only have 15 health. You had to play powerful cards to stand a chance, I remember my old priest dragon deck that actually played dragons being much more weak when compared to Drakonid Operative and other discover cards that are better to have in your deck than the 6~8+ mana dragons from blackrock mountain and classic. Add this type of powercreep with the nerfs to old classic cards or just throwing them into Hall of Fame because of broken combinations that new cards allowed and I had enough of the game, everytime I tried to make a Warrior deck and saw the Fiery War Axe I couldn't handle it and didn't make the deck anymore. I seriously don't think I'll ever get to play the game again, I saw a bit of battlegrounds in videos and streams and thought of it kinda fun but knowing that you have to pay in order to have all options and it only lasts 4 months... Yeah I'm not getting near it. It's really sad really since HS was such a fun and joy before for me

These prices are so utterly ridiculous you could probably buy a car with the money you spent on Hearthstone if you bought everything that is available for a few years. Unfortunately i already dumped 200 bucks into this game before realizing how disgustingly greedy they are. Maybe i feel that harshly about them because i dont play FIFA or FIFA Ultimate Team but imo Blizzard should be at least as unpopular as EA. I play alot of league of legends and riot games make me absolutely furious alot of times but at least their game isnt pay to win. The skins surely cost an ungodly amount of money but they are optional for playing competetively.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend GameFreak, they are going downhill for years and the road they're on is steeper each year. Also, I'm a little surprised you didn't mentioned Bethesda with their "let's realase buggy as hell games so players will have to fix it themselves" policy. Not to mention the ammount of negative PR that Fallout 76 action has granted them. I'm wondering if all that could lead to breath of fresh air in gaming industry once the giants will fall (if they will indeed fall). Especially that I've heard the world is kinda going into financial problems for few years, which means less people will be able to buy AAA titles from those companies (or feed Blizzard and other games that are pay to win/to play), which in turn could lead to indie and free to play (with cosmetics) games take the lead in the industry (especially because it's not like they are upopular right now).
