"Paper gold" is 100% paper and 0% gold. If your "asset" is a number on a piece of paper or on a computer screen then you have no asset.

I bet it went down like this: 1. Young analyst has cool idea, sells it to his boss. 2. Boss creates tokenized gold project, spending millions in development. 3. Product ready for market, let's check with the lawyers. 4. Lawyers: you can't do that. 5. Boss: oh shit. 6. Boss's Boss: You spent how much on this?!? (Takes over project.) 7. Boss's Boss remakes product the way the Lawyers say will be legal, making it useless. 8. Final product release is terrible. Better call it an "innovation" to hype it. 9. I've been subscribed to your channel for a very long time. You once said that when a currency isn't backed up by gold that it takes about 40 years for the currency to lose all of its value. Well, if I remember well they stopped backing up the American currency in 1971 or 72. We're in 2024. It's been 53 years. What's going on? Why is it that the currency hasn't lost its value?

It’s absolutely insane the miners and mints haven’t gotten together to create a true gold/silver crypto on the blockchain that everyone can trust with regular independent audits. The miners and mints already have the secure storage to minimise this cost and it needs to be brought to the absolute minimum with unallocated and segregated accounts and physical delivery always available if requested (for an extra fee of course)…miners especially would benefit as the gold/silver price would skyrocket if you just made it easy for ppl to invest this way without all the 3rd party risk…allow all to lend out their gold if they wish as well “gold staking” to earn a return if they wish. Optionality, low cost, and trust is the key here.

2:10. Maloney left out ''... in Hong Kong''. This is obviously a gold account scheme for the HK and maybe China market. HSBS is a real world bank. This is geared towards the current tremendous gold interest in HK and China, where there may well be less regulatory hurdles than in the US. It's probably to tap into the hot gold market there, as opposed to the very tepid interest here. A non-issue for us here.

If gold and silver is monetized all gold/silver shops will be out of business. Metals will then be controlled by the government and will know what you have when you try to sell it. You will have to prove at what price you purchased it and then expect a hellish tax!

Currency isn’t taxed. The central banks are working at a Fed level. CBDC is a Central Bank initiative. There are groups out there, for example, Citizens for Sound Money, who are working to get legislation passed at the state level to implement Gold and Silver as legal tender again. 10 states are already in the process of moving forward with it. Physical Gold and Silver that you personally own can be vaulted and used digitally or can be exchanged physically without counterparty risk or rehypothocation or in the control of the central banks.

Gold and silver carry zero counter party risk of you hold in your hands. If you allow a 3rd party to hold your metals you lose that zero counter party risk. The old saying is if you don't hold you don't own it. Period... Don't trust anyone not even these talking heads.

Yeah but it is more liquid to buy and sell precious metal certificates, compared to buying it from a physical store where they sell it to you for a crazy premium, which makes it very tough to get a good return on your investment.
