Looking back on your old clips and hearing you talk about not liking to do repairs (I know you said you hurt your back some time ago that lead to your hiatus from plumbing, so I don't blame you from trying to keep in at a minimum) and then seeing all of the repairs you have done since, is very impressive. You do amazing work. If only you had a laborer to do the digging for you, you could do a few more repairs! But as always another fantastic video.. Never would I have thought that watching some Aussie dude clean drains could be so satisfying lol! Keep them coming!

Gavin, I hope you realize that one glorious day, you'll send the jetter down a customer's stormwater pipe to clear a blockage and out will pop one of your baseball caps?

If you want a semi permanent marker on you jetting hose, use a couple of inches of hot melt glue lined heat shrinkable tube that is used on electrical cables. If you need to remove it just score the heat shrink and reheat it and it will split on the scored line.

Looks like you could be a landscape gardener if the plumbing ever fails !

Yeah I like your new intro we get to see you good stuff maybe what you should do is carry a small tarp in your truck with you instead of throwing the grass in the dirt on top of the grass you can throw it on the tarp and then when you're done you pick up the tarp and you just dump it all back in the hole and it's nice and clean that's what we used to do when I was digging holes to repair gas lines. 👍👍😀🇨🇦🐸

I learned a tip about backfilling. I think it was from Jem with "The Drain Unblockers". Wet the ground after backfilling and it will settle back nicely. I personally haven't tried it but it worked for him great.

Quick qestion: Why don't you leave small amount of water flowing (low pressure) through nozzle when inserting/pulling out. That would prevent clogging when there is mud/sand. I really enjoy your videos. I made a wooden nozzle myself for garden hose to clean pipe from sand and clay tile pieces. It works but lacks a pressure to clean baked in things.

Seeing a com cable like that just blew my mind. Our ground freezes. They installed fiber optic to our building a few summers ago and it was encased in orange plastic tubing. Was that line just like a telecom land line? Crazy seeing it so exposed like that. (My kid is going to Electrician/Electronic Trade school, so when I told him about this he had to see it himself.) If someone broke a landline phone cable in my neighbourhood, I don't think anyone would notice.

Telephone companies often use a rolling 'inserter' for cable. All it does is create a thin 'slot' in the ground, then stuffs the cable down into the slot. It can be as deep as 9 inches, or as shallow as 2 inches - I think they're even designed to go 'over' pipes and things, just like you found. No, it's not smart, but I've had to deal with them before. It's actually a 'ground rated' waterproof cable, so conduit is considered unnecessary unless it's in a dangerous area. Edit - Note, this kind of service cable will often _not_ be located properly. They'll just sort of estimate the direction of it from two ends.

If you’ve got to dig, put your spoil on a small tarp. Easier to shovel in the backfill and no mess on the lawn.

What about a gully or basin to catch that water coming off the spoon drain? Looks like it's going to be easy for that drain to clog again, especially since it's somewhat below grade.
