I really envy you drain clearer's today. Back when I did it all we had were Rigid snake cutters and a garden hose! Camera was a Polaroid Land or a 35mm. In a pipe? LMAO!

@@penetratorblockeddrains It amazes me how long it took to apply a high pressure sprayer to clear a drain. In hindsight it's now "Duh!" I imagine some plumber came up with the idea. When did the change happen? I got out of Roto-rooting in the late 70's. I went into commercial/industrial refrigeration after beginning in my youth as a plumbers helper as that was the only pool of tradesmen that could install and service refrigeration and cooling/ heating systems.

This guy won't cheat you. Gave the customer some sound advice to hold off on the repair until after the pool is done. Someone else would've swindled him and did it twice. Quality work and honest work here.

Great video Gavin! It is always nice when another plumber reccomends you for the job. I just think they don't want to spend the time clearing tree roots when they can unclog a toilet for a few minutes work and get paid big money. It's not necessarily a money thing. I make more jetting than I do unclogging a toilet most of the time. I get a lot of referrals from plumbers. Many, if not most, of the plumbers I get work from don't have the equipment that I do (jetters, cameras, sewer machines, etc.). They don't want to make the investment in expensive equipment that they don't use very often. I use it every day so it pays off for me to have the tools to do the job. Also, people tend to gravitate to doing the work that they like to do. I don't like fixing faucets and replacing water heaters. Some guys do. I prefer to do drain work. Other guys like to do remodels or new construction so that's what they concentrate on. I'm sure there are some plumbers that think like you've outlined but I just wanted to give you another perspective on it from someone in the biz.

Hi Gavin I watch videos from around the world and notice in the uk despite having easy access with there pits they seem to stick to one nozzle and and spend ages trying to push through. You have numerous nozzles and pick the correct one for the job. Great job as usual.
