Aha! You may have just solved the mystery of my own slow draining shower. I live in an area of Texas that has very hard water. Thinking maybe the calcium & lime combined with an improperly flushing toilet in the same bathroom may be growing some of these same drain gems! Great video…thank you for always bringing a smile!

lots of conditioner going down the drain can combine with the hard water and cause interesting blockages.

Looks more like shampoo and soap clogging. I have seen that too many times coming out of drains.

In my state we call that "lime scale", and it's a real problem around surfaces with hot water. (Have some friends who are nurses, and they go nuts when they watch your vids and see the veins on your left forearm. Some real money shots in this vid. You'll be safe, they're 3,000 kms away from Brissie).

I've never seen Uric Scale that bad, but then I live in a soft water area and calcification doesn't happen the way it would in a hard water area.

Ha ,yes Urine can really Crystallize in a sewer line and any line that water is standing for long periods. I see it on my boat in the head lines about ever six months you have to pull the line and snake it out much like a house sewer line... I thought it was only a salt water thing , Im going to have to research this now, I ve never run across this in a house....but I guess the Urine molecules can latch onto soap and such. LOL I guess there a lesson here don't pee in the shower.... Great vid Gavin as always!

GAVIN,,Hello, yes have seen that stuff before, but is also a mix, of minerals in water, I once went to a parts place, asked for a urinal, well the outlet was down to 1/2 inch, from 1.5 inch, all from urine, that was the worst I ever saw. , flush, it overflows on the floor,, great job, stay well,🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸

I think this is sediments that collect in the hot water tank. The pitch in the shower drain is too level and the sediments collect in the horizontal drain. Time to drain the hot water tank using a garden hose and get rid of those sediments. I wonder if the hot water line is also full of that material namely manganese and calcium if local water is from a well.

Another great job and video Gavin, not a surprise it was blocked having all that blocking it, Gavin try switching the fuel off on your jetter when not in use and see if it helps with the starting 👍

@@penetratorblockeddrains the folk I get coming to see me saying there generator or small engine struggles to start I have to keep telling them to switch fuel off, I have some stickers made reminding them to turn off fuel after every use

In a shower drain, I would think it's a mixture of soap scum and maybe certain cleaning agents, without enough water to clear them afterward. Perhaps someone mops the floor with certain cleaning agents then dumps the bucket into the shower?

You know what may help you with inside jetting. is the diameter of the pipe I would get me a y pipe or t . I will put that on top of the pipe I'm going into . and the side of the tea or the y coming off I would hook my Shop-Vac too. I turn it on and believe it or not while running the Jetter up and down inside the pipe it would collect the water and sludge in the Shop-Vac. it worked great there was no mess there was nothing on the hose as I pulled it out even . Question what size diameter hoses do you all use I'm running a 1/4 . PS nice job I really do enjoy watching your videos keep up the good work and look forward to the next one
