The Cerenovus/Goblin interaction is so interesting. Milk is right in that ST’s should probably not do it and give the evil team an easy-ish win, but it’s fascinating that it works that way.

Responding to something niche in the chat, the Recluse registers as evil "&" a minion, so registering as the Goblin would cause the Cannibal to be poisoned (they can't register as a Good Goblin). But I don't think I'd ever rule it that they would see a minion ability, they would have to get the Recluse ability.

well, being poisoned, they can get any ability. showing evil just means it's quite clear they're poisoned, which is usually a bad move. if they're poisoned by eating a Recluse, they lose the ability to have the Recluse's ability, therefore they don't have that ability nor is the ST obligated to show them they do.

I love how everyone came to the same horrible, horrible realization about the cere-goblin interaction possibly dooming them one after the other. It seems like something no sane ST should be doing, but I love the horrific implication. The terror it inspired was funny.

Does a lunatic ever work effectively on a script without a magician or a poppy grower? I feel like I’ve seen a lot of lunatic games and it doesn’t ever really work (at least as I believe intended?). Is the main boon to a lunatic that doesn’t ever believe they are the demon just the fact that the given “minions” are usually suspicious by proxy and hence can be used to frame townsfolk?

I think it can work a bit better in person, where you don't always get a chance to talk with your minions, rather than online where private convos are actually reliably private. But yeah, it's always felt like an outsider that sounds cooler on paper than it is in practice.

I think Lunatic is probably good for scripts intended for newer players; maybe it works out that the Demon follows through with Lunatic kills because they work for the evil team or because Demon doesn't know what else to do and then Lunatic is fully convinced. Not often but can happen especially with less experienced players who may not understand why their kill went to someone else (maybe Lunatic thinks they hit a Mayor and the kill bounced but that really only works a few times). Less often but more hilarious, the Demon convinces themselves that they are actually the Lunatic and then the entire game is up in the air from there haha. Yes, I've seen it work, but mostly if the lunatic is shown to be the same as the demon and then the demon following the lunatics lead for as long as possible. Patters managed to get a Lunatic to final 3 in a Legion game without the Lunatic suspecting a thing.

If it was the evil team doing the Cere Goblin plan, as ST I wouldn't execute the Goblin. But if a Good Cere (however that happened) picks an Evil Goblin, I'd probably kill the Goblin. Because Good messed up, rather than Evil taking a loophole. Especially if an Evil Player or Politician influence the Good Cere to do it.
