months ago I was first diagnosed with diabetes and my number was 250 I was on my up there and the truth is if I hadn't took my blood test and find out about my blood sugar range I wouldn't be here today and I would of suffered a diabetic coma and thankfully by the Grace of God I didn't ignore the blood test and my doctor caught it before it done reached it's peek. And lately since my last visit at the clinic with my doctor I had done a whole complete 360 and started exercising more and eating alot of vegetables and alot of protein. It is showing completely different results. And my blood sugar is 120 and I am continuing my progress to get it lower back to normal but I know it for sure that it will happen on my next visit with my doctor next year praying hands together and keep them fingers crossed for me.

Good video, I watched a couple others on the subject before this one, and this was the first clear simple explanation. Thank you. I've been doing a low carb diet and decided to start checking my blood glucose just to have a better idea of whats going on in my body and today was my first doing tests. Right after getting out of bed it was 91 and only up to 101 two hours after breakfast, so I seem to be in good shape. I'm also doing OMAD and breakfast is the only meal I eat so I think two measurements a day is all I'll take.

@BCCI_CRICKET_VIDEOS Your dad needs to see a doctor and get an A1C blood test. This tells you and him what his average blood sugar has been over the last 90 days. If his blood sugar is in the diabetic range, there are medicines he can take to lower it. He can also lose weight if he’s overweight and that will can help. Last, if diabetic, his diet should NOT include anything with added sugar at all. Potatoes, rice, pasta, chips, candy and bread (including all forms of pastry) all should be restricted or eliminated because these cause big blood sugar spikes in diabetic people. Diet changes are hard, but if he sticks to it, it gets easier. Diet is one area where he can likely bring his blood sugar down significantly. Ignoring diabetes can lead to irreversible blindness and kidney failure. Kidney disease from uncontrolled diabetes often has no symptoms until the last stage where it becomes an emergency and dialysis is needed. Get your dad checked and treated as needed to avoid diabetes complications.

I think my meter is broken. It went from 100 to 60 in 20 minutes yesterday. I looked at possible factors as to why there could be false readings. This morning woke up with a 96 and it kept going from there to high 80s so idk. Does creatine increase insulin sensitivity? Ive noticed my fasting glucose has been higher when on a creatine mass gainer so i stopped taking it. Read online it could have an effect?

I have a question, my sugar is usually 98-99 in the morning, about 100-104 in the evening.I eat 2 meals a day and then fast for the rest of the day, today my second meal was a little larger than usual so before I checked my sugar 2 hours after eating I expected it to be around 120. It was 81. What could have caused it? Did my insulin sensitivity increased since I have been fasting and my body has too much of it ? An hour later it was 88. It shouldn't be this low 2-3 hours after eating. Should I be worried?

Hi, First thanks for the video, it was some good information! Second, I am going on a long fast...don't know exactly how long yet. I am an older man, have no major health issues and 7 days in my blood sugar is 87 in the evening...just got the meter. I have been on many fasts over the years and the longest was 40 days most of them just water. Feeling hungry has no real effect on me except feeling hungry, but being of strong mind is enough to get through the process for me. So I have heard down through the 60's is OK but you do not want to go lower than that? Is that reasonable? I have never checked anything like this before and just ran on pure ignorance...LOL. Thanks for your help, Dave

When I hear doctors want your blood sugar first thing in the morning I wonder if they take into account the Don phenomenon. Yesterday at 8:00 a.m. was my last meal. At 9:30 at night my glucose was 85. I ate nothing only drank water and woke up with the 113 reading 13 hours into a fast I was normal but waking up 23 hours into a fast my glucose was higher and in the range that would call me pre-diabetic. I'm adding this not to take anything away but hopefully to added to the conversation

I've had that happen too. I attribute it to sometimes I get ibs from fibromyalgia.. and digestion slows down. If I don't include 45 minutes of a cardio activity after I eat in the morning, I can't keep it straight. Long as I do, I don't have to do gymnastics around it. I might sweep my rug with a broom instead of vacuum. Or take a brisk walk, rake leaves or lawn just to move. Anything that get my heart rate up. Got Neuro Lyme and have tough time keeping up in mornings right now, so been doing it afternoon. It doesn't do the same.. Just in the morning after breakfast which I'll eat between 9 and 11.

Testing blood sugar in the morning isn't a good standard as a fasting test... because of the "dawn effect" which is fairly common. Before waking up your body increases your blood sugar levels to aid you in preparation of your day.

Beware::: I selected parsley, cinnamon, garlic, oregano, dark chocolate, ginger, allspice and blueberries all in a desperate effort to get their anti inflammatory properties. I was convinced lack of sleep and inability to remain asleep was due to brain inflammation. Taking so much parsley and the other things, over time, lowered my blood glucose level to 59 mg/dL even after eating! These do offer good anti inflammatory properties, but need to be taken carefully.

I had a fasting bloods at 7.9mmol at lunchtime, my gp says "youre fine"... im breaking out in sweats an just feel crappy... ive gone and bought myself a blood sugar testing kit...after I eat im sweating and my hearts raised too, i feel rubbish...my first readings 7.9mmol right after eating dinner, I may check again as maybe I was too eager.
