Last time I saw Phil and The Illegals, he sat on a stool the whole gig, occasionally pumping his fist, and got the crowd to sing way too much of the lyrics. You can see him doing it in this vid, but it was oh so much worse. Gather he decided to perform for the film. And that band, what a fucking abomination after the polished outfit that was the Abbott brothers.

@Dirk Digler Well, I don't expect him to do much these days. It's the attitude that matters and he still sounds angry enough. Down 2008 is still one of my top two shows ever.

He sounds better here than he has in 10 years. He goes through these little "aging backwards" spells every few years since 2004 or so. I think alot of it is when he isn't drinking, he ages backwards and loses 35 lbs. It happens like overnight sometimes too, lol. We need to protect and enjoy this man!

Seen em many times at Hara Arena in Dayton…them and White Zombie were almost house bands for a few years. Every show was awesome. Probably the best was Pantera, Zombie, and Biohazard. \m/. Phil had some girls from local topless bar close to stage. Awesome times.

@@dmitryowens Thanks for watching! The audio is coming from a single RODE mic attached to the camera which is a basic two channel audio. We mixed the sound the best we could but there’s only so much we could do with such basic audio.

@@kskip4242 Where in My post did it say anything about this is the first time he has done this since pantera split? Pretty sure I don’t say that anywhere. What I did say is it’s probably hard on him with all the memories since his drummer and his guitar player are now both deceased. My post had nothing to do with him playing these since Pantera split. As far as living under a rock. I doubt that I’m probably more educated on genre of music and more bands and songs and lyrics then you do

Phil has pretty much modeled his life after the teachings of Aleister Crowley come on. You do know who Crowley is right? 91' Orange Park, Fl. I was 14. Vulgar tour. Shit was absolutely insane and the best small venue concert of my life. The barricade fell and Pantera stage invited until the plug was pulled. Still got I think 8 songs. Cherish this memory.

Thank god the drummer has finally caught the Vinnie groove. Those first performances to the Pantera stuff were fucking cringe. Even the guitarist sounds more on point. Good job guys! Less is always more, and you guys have gotten pretty tight with these riffs. Props to Phil too for keeping shit real and staying away from politics. The guy has come a long way 🤘🏼

Wow, kinda suprised, didn’t know Phil is still/again on stage even with old pantera songs. Feels good to see him again. I was so lucky to see Pantera back in the mid-to-late 90‘s here in Germany in a club which was waaayyy too small for them, maybe 500 people, crowded af. No opening act at all, no huge lightshow, only a big banner with the band logo on it, that was all. There even wasn’t any barricade and only two or three security guys chillin’ in front of the stage. I had (and still have) no clue how the entire f..k that show came to happen. It was mad fun, the crowd was going totally insane. I‘ve been to many shows from different styles of music, but I‘ll remember that gig for the rest of my whole damn life! Big shout outs from Germany to anyone who reads this! Wish you well, Phil … keep it going and stay safe!

The thing is dime always played both the lead and rythem,on records he played both ,but live it was just him ,by having two it does both parts and just makes the song sound more true and more balanced,one keeps the beat going one free to solo like the records

I was back in the bar by the window, if you looked in the reflection, Mike sure did look like Dime on stage. It was almost like he was giving his blessing. I tried to take a pic of it, but it would not come out. Great fucking show. I will count this as the 9th time I saw Pantera.

I got a little misty eyed man(fuck) lol. Never got a chance to see the greatest heavy fuckin metal band ever, (Pantera) but I felt the presence of the brothers while watching this man. Phil ALMOST sounds as good as he did back in the day. Credit his band for learning these songs too. Guitar solos could use some work, but all in all fine job guys.
