It was only revolutionary in America, because the rest of the world already knew about good coffee.

Yet they buy it like chocolate. Countries recently are only acknowledged as globalized if they got a Starbucks on the corner. Trust me I'm not American.

I spent some time reading the Mr. Schultz's book, "From Ground Up" and made a KZfaq video about my understanding of Starbucks (in Korea). The book itself was ok, but it's truly remarkable how Starbucks currently has over 50% of the Korean coffee franchise market.

This guy (and his mate) thought he could fast food cookie cutter Frasier and Nyles Seattle snobby coffee. What he has done is cooker cuttered a saccherine McDonalds at the expense of employee hell. People are addicted to sweet and hot things and are creatures of habit from youth. Its somewhere to sit if you are hungry, thirsty and knackered from walking around some shitty mall that you would prefer not to be in in the first place. Its also very expensive. Coffee isnt the healthiest drink in the world. Sugar is also soomething best taken in moderation. As a business its terrific, for him and his mate.
