P Mil These signs are the equivalent to reading individual letter notes. Except instead of notes like ABCDEFG we have different symbols that tell us to do different things. Like buzz rolling, doubles, flams, double stops, accents i’m sure you are familiar with but is a very prominent for percussion. Snare is easier and harder in its own ways.
@jakereddehase55474 жыл бұрын

@SushiPat6 жыл бұрын
you want to divide the rhythm around the accents not each crotchet beat, so you are basically playing a repeating sequence of rolls instead of seemingly random patterns.

Reading notes for snare is hard for me. Especially since u don't have lots of experience on it. So I do better memorizing the beats to play then having to read notes. But if they are expecting me to read the notes...we got a problem

Why are the rhythms in the beginning a bit out of time? Do they do that on purpose?
@simcho93775 жыл бұрын
Ryan they’re not out of time... I think the word you’re looking for is “syncopated”
@Ryan-hp6xs5 жыл бұрын
SimCho no.. I’m not referring to syncopation. The most egregious example is in the first full measure on the “&a” of 2. That space is very crushed. This passage sounds like it takes inspiration from Blue Devils 1976 or Legend of the One Eyed Sailor by Chuck Mangione, but neither of them play it like this, so I’m confused if this interpretation is a style choice or just a technical error.

the whole thing really isn't that hard (check updated video with correct transcription), but as soon as you get 16 snares and 7 of them primarily play bass and quads, it becomes difficult to clean.

As a clarinet player, I can say this isn't too difficult to follow what's happening and I could believe a seasoned snare drummer could get this learned in like a week, but also as a clarinet player no way in hell am I gonna be able to learn how to do this.
@vaporghoul2 жыл бұрын
it's basically just take out the flams and dynamics, then get good at that then add the flams and dynamics. Fairly easy but learning these things in time and for a competition is difficult.

Ok I swear I’m really nit trying to boast. But that’s actually pretty easy. I’m in middle school band and I’m playing a harder piece of music for my solo tomorrow actually. It’s class B for those of you guys wondering. This is truly pretty easy. Minus all of the fancy handwork and traditional grip I could do this intro easily.

g o o d n i g ht lol. Your actually kinda an entitled idiot. I practice everyday for at least an hour. I can play the marching snare, trios, concert snare, bass drum, and a lot of other Auxiliary instruments in the percussion section. Also I actually try and have a life unlike you who probably spends your time eating potato chips on the coach making retorted comments online. So yeah, I think I’m actually pretty good, but I mean hey. You must know a lot since potato is supposed to be good for your brain.
@GrammarNazi105 жыл бұрын
@@pblount340 Simulation Hub I'm captain of my high school drumline, genius. Every single 8th grader thinks they're just amazing at drums when in reality you just dont know enough about them to know you're terrible. You literally admitted yourself you dont know anything about technique or "hand work." Also dont even pretend you can play this piece if you cant play traditional. Like c'mon that's just ignorant. Send me a video of you playing this with perfect accent height, tap quality, diddle quality, technique, and rhythmic accuracy and I'll agree that it's easy. Until then just shut up cuz you're clearly ignorant
@pblount3405 жыл бұрын
g o o d n i g ht your clearly not a very smart person because you even stated that I admitted I couldn’t play with perfect accents and stick heights and then a sentence later you ask me to play with perfect accents and stick heights. 😂😂😂 Also I’m pretty sure I probably know more about drums than you just from the way you talk. And by the way you talk I’m clearly not the ignorant one, you are. You seem like that annoying person in band who is ok at drums but then pretends that everyone else is trash and then just trash talks them. Lol, get a life dude and actually start practicing your playing since you clearly aren’t really that good.
@pblount3405 жыл бұрын
g o o d n i g ht ok challenge excepted. I’m a pretty good drummer for my age and I just got a 2 for my solo on the snare, which is a very good score btw. Remember when I made my first comment saying that I was about to perform a solo? Anyway I stay after school with my friends almost every day of the week to practice so if you comment me your email I will learn this piece and send a video to you of me playing it in a month or two once I learn it.
