Just an update to something I said at the end of the video, I took another test about a day or two after recording that and got my positive result. I'm doing okay, getting through it just fine. Honestly it's been more exhausting/fatiguing than anything else so I'll consider myself lucky. Sorry it's been such a delay since the last vid. I have a few other things in the works right now, some are complete or nearing complete. A lot of different types of videos, so February should be interesting at the very least.

The original Blue Reflection I was shocked by. I absolutely loved the battle interface, paired with the music and the sweeping camera shots on the characters....it made the battle experience very satisfying. I was also shocked when I heard this was being released. This game is still available but you are right, it wont be for long and just like the original game, it will get VERY expensive and hard to find very fast. Seems like a fair review. Never got around to beating this game myself, because I caught a slight case of the Covid. So I never got to see the tedium this game has in store for me at the end. Not yet anyway, but I do plan on picking it back up. Honestly, the way you described the end content actually kind of reminds me of another game I played a bit back called Crystar. Mostly enjoyed it, but the end content got tedious and repetitive. And yeah, it basically felt like it was wearing out its welcome to the point I started booking it and ignoring side content just to get to the ending.

I was like you when I bought the first one on the ps4. On a whim because I loved the way it looked. It ended up in my backlog, unfortunately. And now I'm scared to open it! Bought the second one on the switch, which I am going to play. I'm hoping I'll get lucky and find a used copy of the first one for a good price.

I completed the game sometime during the end of 2021 and I completely agree with everything you mentioned. I liked the game but there was way too many dates to do even for being optional. I ended up doing over 100 of them somehow. Although I also liked the first games ost more I think what this games missing is an option to listen to the games soundtrack. The first game had that and it's what got me listening to the tracks more. I feel I would have appreciated Second Light's ost more otherwise.

That's interesting that they made a sequel with a limited print run, usually companies avoid that unless the first was very commercially successful.

I enjoyed the first entry a fair bit and was ecstatic when this was announced along with the anime and Sun. I only finished Second Light last night and well it's an easy favorite for me; the way each gameplay system complements each other gives a lot of synergy, and for me at least it felt like each mechanic wasn't wasted. The music and the characters were really enjoyable as well as the combat system, I wasn't expecting to get as attached to the cast as much as I did before credits rolled. Side note the paid DLC areas is a nice addition and I'd go as far as to say for those that played/enjoyed Ryza 2 I'll say it's a close must buy.

Ok, despite not being a huge fan of turn-based battles and preferring real-time combat, this video sold me. I think both the first game and second would be right up my alley. I just need to find a moment between games to play them!

In a way almost like a poorly written newspaper article designed tp push hype, not information. Your reviews feel more like first impressions than a review, which is a very good thing. All we care about is what your thought of the game, your opinions which you give, not pre scripted BS. You can usually tell in the first 30 seconds of a review if it is pre-scripted BS or a solid set of impressions. Yours being the latter so that hooked me in and I have watched a few of your reviews. Not gonna lie, this was my favorite game in 2021 even considering games that came out this year like SMT V and my only grip with it was that it was a little too easy. I guess being introduced to something new was what I needed last year.

I don't know if you mention this, but what I want to know is if there are any issues with framerate during the dialogue sections. The one thing that bothered me about the first game was that every time a character would turn their head and speak at the same time, the framerate would drop to like 10. Was this ever an issue with this game?

I have the first one digitally but never finished it. I want this one but at the same time I have too many games already. Just counting Atelier games I have not finished one since Atelier Shellie despite owning all of them.

Yeah, and my only complaint about this game is that I actually prefer the combat system of the original blue reflection game over this one. I thought that the original blue reflection combat system was far easier to use personally. I just think they over complicated it however, I do like the one-on-one fights where you're fighting up against the boss by yourself. That does take a lot of damage out of the boss which I do like

I was super surprised how much I enjoyed this game. Something about the combination of relaxing RPG loaded with super cute girls just lined up for me. But yeah, I can definitely agree it stretched the ending out way more than it should have, and I kinda wish the Magical Girl transformations didn't have such a threshold to happen. For a lot of the game I'd pretty much only see their reflector forms in boss battles. But I literally owe it to you for getting me into this series, so this was a blast and a half to watch through.

I was kind of hype for Second Light. Constant crafting and dating got to me tho, deffo agree the game felt way longer than it really should have been. On the upside, the switch port was pretty good all things considered

1:01 Is really playing the first game that important? I'm in chapter 7 and I'm fine so far. Actually watching the anime seem more substantial for the story of this game.(I haven't watched it but I don't feel like missing something about the main plot, lmao, I didn't event know what I'm missing cuz I don't know who is debuting in this game and who is from the anime)

I had mixed feelings with the first game, i liked the premise, the social interactions and details (like finding the doll that changes every chapter), but the level up system was super busted, you could be like 15 leves above what you needed always, making "hard" difficulty a joke. And the optional missions were pretty boring and long except the last one. I,m glad the second game has refined the ideas, never expected to see a sequel tho

Well, I beat the game. It was quite a experience but it has some big flaws. The combat system become repetitive very quickly and the game is too easy in general. After Hirahara Sisters Heartscape I only used Ao, Shiho and Hiori for the rest of the game because I really feel the necessity of changing my strategy. I also struggled sometimes to follow what enemies were doing in combat and eventually I stopped paying attetion to that.(I almost never used consumable items, maybe one-two in bosses, but they were really broken) I would have liked to have puzzles in the dungeons(I think there were like 2-3 puzzles in two heartscapes), they looks pretty, but there wasn't nothing to do other than going from point A to B while getting materiales and fighting enemies. Also, the game was lacking of variety of enemies , I was bored of seeing the same enemies but with a slighly different design by the chapter 7...In the last two dungeons I avoided any combat with normal enemies and just ran to the next floors.(Also, some parts such as Yuzu and Lime´s dungeon and having to backtracking every dungeon felt like filler. As for the story, I liked the characters but the pacing is too slow, the first 5-6 chapters are basically just character introductions, there's not much going on. I haven't watched the anime nor played the first game, so I wonder if the first chapters are better or worse having played/watched them. I mean, watching memories of things that you already know sound like something that would make early dungeons more boring, I don't if that would be the case. Also, I think a lot of the exposition would have felt more natural if I had played the first game and watched the anime, usually there is not much going on in general...Also I felt disappointed about the ending as well...It didnt feel like a proper ending for all the characters, I guess it's because a game made with the intention of building a franchise and having people waiting for seeing those characters in other mediums, but I was pissed off of not even being able to see what was doing the girl that I chose after the ending of the game, instead I only got a generic scene but with the model of the girl that I chose.(In addition, I wasn't really impressed by the plot twist and I don't think the true ending make any sense) Nonetheless, I would like to see a third game. I think the concept is cool.

The only thing that sucks is that the mobile game isn't available in my country in Canada which kind of sucks, which means I'll probably never get to play it. Although I heard it wasn't really that good and they did one thing that a lot of people hated which is out of male character into the game that many fans of the game considered like a Yuri game and that's more true for the second game because it's more obviously Yuri than the first one. The lack of Sephira deeply disappointed me. Those monster designs were beyond epic and they had killer beats to go along with them, too. This game felt rather uninspired, even if it was a much better designed game.

I find it strange that games like this hardcore yuri-bait but never quite pull the trigger. Is it really so bad if romance is developed? Now, I say that being about six chapters into this game (as I was interested after watching the decent enough anime and heard some characters would return) so I’d totally welcome being corrected.
