@Benzaiten - Okay, I now get to let loose with one of my pet peeves --- ONE person named "Karen" did a despicable thing and you insist on labeling all people displaying bad behavior as "a Karen"? The vast majority of Karen-named people are fine world citizens. Don't you think your arbitrary use of their name to denote the despicable is frustrating, even hurtful? Alternate words already exist for such people; for example, "bigoted", "deplorable", "discredited", "irrational", "cultist", "rude" all come to mind, but there are many more. Using a perfectly good name like "Karen" to mock despicable behavior is truly lazy, prejudiced thinking.

The sad part is that beginning in the early 2000s pet owners got hit with multiple deadly recalls and everyone started buying high end food. Problem was, we were too stupid (and most still are) to realize our pets don't need that much damn protein and thus numerous dogs especially got their lifespans cut short due to severe inflammation, and for deep lung and long dogs, severe impaction of the bowels.

I enjoyed this. As a kid, every weekend we would go vising my grandparents, who lived in the country, and we'd bring the dog with us. My grandpa raised cattle. The dog LOVED these trips. He practically burst out the car door when we got there. And he'd run and go bark at those cows. Soon as he'd backed them up a little bit, he did what he really came to do....started wolfing down cow pies. Good lord he would scarf them down. Chomp and chomp until his little belly was full. I think those were his happiest moments in life. That's one of the two things I think about that when I see someone buying $80 dog food. The second thing is all the human children going hungry.

If your dog ONLY ate cow pies, they might not be so healthy. My dog got into some compost, which was mostly broken down cow pies anyway. It just goes right through. Didn't even look that different on the way out.

But actually - the FDA is still investigating the trend of “grain free” dog food for a possible link to canine dilated cardiomyopathy
@shannongaston6227
@shannongaston6227 2 жыл бұрын
In 2020, they updated the study and said they found no link between grain-free diets and dilated cardiomyopathy. The newest study that came out regarding this was inconclusive and was also funded by Purina. Grains don’t even supply taurine. Meat supplies taurine. We only started making kibble in the 40’s because the war caused a tin shortage so they moved to making a shelf-stable kibble instead of canned food. 80 years is not long enough for our pets to have evolved to need grain in their diet.
