here is moose & my pattern test of this INSANE apex small batch 3.5 inch 2.5 oz payload of straight #10's out of my girsan mc312 with a rectifire choke .653 & moose's stoeger m3500 with a .665 indian creek at 40 yards
this load is just insane yielding over 1000 pellets in one shell
we will be testing this load in ballistic gel at a long range to show just how lethal these 10's are once the weather is warm enough!

Wow. Yes, maybe overkill but it’s still fascinating to see. You guys are the only ones doing amazing patterning videos like this. FWIW, I was looking at my boxes of apex the other day and it recommends you don’t constrict past .660

Love your research as it saves me a lot of money in exploring what is truly over kill and what might be considered wasting game meat. A 50 cal. Would leave more edible bird. This technology in tungsten finds its reality in the 410, 28 & 20 gauges. The quest for the smallest tightest load to the birds head is what it's all about. Great job and keep the Blue Collar laboratory rolling!

I have found the threshold of overkill myself with tss. Agree 100% with what u say. Too much of a good thing. Precisely why i've gone back to my longbeard XR and Jebs .650 I can kill em and not have to spend an hour digging those tiny pellets out of the breast meat. Great video guys!

I think it’s another prime example of I hate shooting in lead sleds & tighter constriction doesn’t always yield tighter patterns that .665 was 👌🏽 You’re gonna dig my penetration test I got planned with this load vs it’s lead “equivalent”

I shot my last 3.5" tss last year. Me and the wife were patterning, and I shot an Apex load, through an SX3 Longbeard, and it knocked me out of my chair, lol. And I'm not a little fella. Good thing it likes the 3" shells. Hahahaha!!! I thought about adding a couple pounds of lead or tss and epoxy in the forearm, pistol grip, and stock, but decided against it. I'm loving the 20 gauge and the trusty Win 1300 with the 2 3/4" 2oz loads. Can't wait to see the vid!!

@Frank Andrew I've never seen a 3rd degree pattern worth a flip, but, some still swear by it. I'll stick with Apex 2 3/4" or 3" #8 or Smalltown blend in both 20ga and 12ga for the field birds, and LBXR #5 for thicker areas where shots are under 50 yards.

An idea for you, cut out a Silhouette/cutout/stencil of the target ( duck, goose, turkey) so if the shot pulls you can overlay the stencil on the core of the pattern .. keep up the good work

I realize that, but my point is that you actually have to put the pattern on the target. A killer pattern that just edges a target is actually a crappy pattern. A more precise sighting setup would help avoid embarrassing misses on camera.

What is really cool (and interesting physics wise) is that at 5:30 you can see the pattern shoot low to high as the shot string hit the target. Like the recoil in the gun is affecting the pattern as it leaves the muzzle. In theory, a shorter barrel gun would shoot lower POI. I'm probably wrong......

I bought a stoeger m3500 last year and used it all last year. Killed more ducks and geese last year than I ever have in total. I also started really hunting 3 years ago. So not been hunting a lot but I’ve killed at least over a hundred

No sir it’s not Jebs don’t look anything like that rectifire natural finish, these are a polished finish Jebs have a more rough finish which is far less shiny With that said the rectifire chokes I got were before they were finished up so we could get em on the channel asap

I just purchased a Rectifire tube for my gun but haven’t patterned it yet. They are made in the county next to mine in South Carolina. We went in person and purchased several choke tubes. They treated us like we were family. If it shoots as good as there public relations it will be great.

All the inertia guns are pretty much benelli clones. Except for the impala and the A5. I know the A5 uses the same inertia system but it looks different and uses a different barrel. The impala uses a invector plus type barrel.
