The Toronto Blue Jays are not having the start to their season that many fans had hoped for and it has led other MLB teams to start considering them as a potential seller. The Toronto Blue Jays have a star closer in Jordan Romano and it looks like the Baltimore Orioles have their eyes on them. It would take a lot for the Toronto Blue Jays to trade Jordan Romano, but considering the start they are having it really isn't out of the realm of possibility. Kimbrel doing a bad job as closer has people panicking and speculating on who the Orioles can find as a closer. Then they look at underperforming teams and their closers. The O's should've been using Cano to close. Romano isn't going anywhere. The Blue Jays don't seem open to any change. They'll probably let this team ride in 2024, giving it a chance. If they miss the playoffs, perhaps they fire Atkins and buy out the last two years of his contract. Romano, Vlad, and Bo are free agents at the end of 2025. Let the new GM make the decision on what to do with all of them during the 2025 season.

That would be a confession by Atkins that he blew it. Even though we already know that is the case, I wouldn't hold my breath on him acknowledging that he has effectively ruined the team. He will try to hang onto his job right to the last second.

Trading Romano is definitely interesting, considering he’s one of the best relievers in baseball is going to fetch a fairly high price, probably no top 100 prospect out there but definitely a teams number 5 and 7-10 ranked prospect

The worst trade in Jays history made by AA Dickie for Syndergaard. AA left the team in total shit, old slow, injury prone and bad contracts. Jays management are doing a much better job just needs to fire John Schneider. What did AA Jays do nothing, still talking about a bat flip like they won something.

@@christopherblack4520I mean sure, but that trade negative is immediately negated by some of the other AA trades like Donaldson. Not a fair statement to trash AA like that. Guy jumped ship, won a ship, and continues to run a stellar team.

@@jacobhobbins7127 Not fair to trash Atkins, Jays are young, great defense, good starting pitching, fast on the bases, no bad contracts, on paper a contender. The bad players are under performing hitting, bull pen great and really bad, infield errors cost games, I blame Schneider. AA did not build the Braves expected to win before he arrived, and the Braves put a leash on him making sure he did not trade the youth away. Anthopoulos did not last in LA before he went to Atlanta. I would take Atkins over Anthopoulos any day.

Baltimore has some really good prospects how about 3rd baseman Westburg with 6 hrs and 27 rbi's as Jays could add Kikuchi/Romano.

The sooner they make meaningful moves, the sooner they can rebuild a contender. If they wait too long jays end up with a situation like 2017 all over again and get next to nothing for star players like Donaldson. The longer they wait, the bigger the uncompetitive window

I can agree to a few of these comments, but Atkins can not be the guy to pull the trigger. Westburg and a top ten prospect would be nice. Maybe send Kirk with for a catching prospect.

What did Atkins get in return the last time he blew up the team? Happ and Strohman were coveted at the deadine and he got squat! AA didnt last long in LA because Atanta gave him a contract to be exec VP and GM. You know a promotion? He was hired in 2017 and Atlanta has won the NL east every year including a world series in 2021. AA was ranked 3rd in the MLB execs by his peers in a poll taken by te athletic. Atkins didnt receive a single vote. All the stars on the current Jays were all drafted and signed by AA. Name any drafted by Atkins? Name any significant payer drafted by Atkins on the team? Atkins is a terrible GM because he has never been a GM and it shows.
