More wheel noises to fix! This noise started after some fast driving through twisty roads. New wheel bearing saves the day!

Milwaukee impact Gun. The nut came off in 1 second. 450lb torque and off that quick. Best £400 I’ve ever spent

Same happening to my 06 330i and I am mad my mechanic didn’t replace both rear at once. Now left side is gone

1700 to replace a wheel bearing? 😂😂😂 I need to move over there and make off like a brigand myself. This is coming to you from someone who specializes on these for a living . 😂😂😂😂 See here in Miami too many ppl drive these cars and the fear and mystery is gone. Shops as well as owners know it's all a crock and it's no different to fix/repair than any other vehicle. That nut wasn't even that rusty! Did they even bother to align the vehicle after that fleecing? Or was that not included?

My cars doing the exact same thing and it’s coming from the rear. I was thinking it was the diff but not sure so got bearings to go on

I forgot to mention. When you do the other bearings, get a dremel and slowly sand down a portion of the nut without damaging the axle threads, then get a chisel and hammer it counter clockwise and it’ll loosen. Trust me, you will be doing the other bearings.

I had the same on my 4 serie, cost me 280,- to fix it including labor!! Man, they really screwed you..

Was the Hub making the clunk noise whenever they go bad

Not usually. They make a whirring noise like a bad tire. Or grinding.

The clunk sound was likely one of the trailing arms that was loose. Common issue on E and F chassis. The lower trailing arm where it bolts to the bottom of the spindle, that one loves to loosen up with time. Since it has to be removed during wheel bearing R&R, they likely fixed that issue inadvertently on reassembly.

I know it definitely didn’t cost you £100 it might of cost you £90-100 for the part but parts and labour it was never 100 quid lad

Should have done both wheel bearings. These are known to go bad together. Shitty shop, not replacing both sides. The labor overlap is crazy .

There’s no point of doing that if you’re not doing it yourself, they’re gonna charge you the same when you do them both or go back when the other one gets bad.
