BMW E39 Idle Control Valve Fix
In today's video, Blake and I are going to show you how to fix the idle control valve on your BMW E39. This idle control valve fix should be exactly the same on any BMW with the M52 engine. This idle control valve fix should also be very similar on any BMW with the later M54 engine. I hope this video was helpful for any of you guys having idle issues with your BMW E39 cars. I was just admiring the original headlights and then you mentioned changing headlights. I think the original lights look much better, especially when the are nicely clear-coated.

Good video, you explained everything very well. I'm getting ready to pull the ICV on my 2003 X5 and of course the clamp on mine is also upside down just like yours, hopefully I can get it loose....I'm sure it will be fun! Lol

Thanks for the video, my 2000 528i/E39 needs exactly that, a thorough cleaning of the idle air control valve or a new one put on. Oddly enough I went to film school also, but that was in Colorado.

Thank you for this vid. I bought a new ICV. Now, I'm wondering if I should just clean the old one like you did. Mine is a 95 525i. Also, my MAF is disconnected and the car runs without it.

Hello. my car is e39 98 model m52 engine. lamps, air conditioner or any electrical load also makes idle fluctuations. Could it be from this piece? thanks.

This is a helpful video. But, I was a lil' frustrated, at first, by so mush camera time focusing on whomever is speaking and not the engine. When speaking of a part and the area around the part to be addressed, having much baring on your repair experience, I would much rather focus on that part to be worked on at the same time that it is mentioned. I don't have to focus on the face of who's talking once they're already introduced. However, you guys are obviously knowledgeable and very entertaining with this share, still. I have this idle control valve issue. I think your video has given me helpful insight on my issue. -Thank you

that is the throttle cable all you gotta do it pull it when its running and you will see

Just cleaned mine, thanks for the video. Slight improvement, but still dies. Throttle body next?

@@DriversSide car starts and idles fine with the MAF unplugged. It should throw an error code, right? I'll get it scanned :) thanks again.

After the three bolts should the ICV just pull out? I tried mine a while ago and it wouldnt budge

you gotta really tug at it. try to understand the angle that its in and what else is connected to it.

i think my car has same problem with RPM moving and car shaking in cold start . can i used wd40 for cleaning thanks

Wd40 is not for cleaning. Use brake cleaner..
