Welcome along to another E39 M5 DIY guide. In this video we drop out the gearbox and fit an uprated clutch with a lightweight flywheel to a guest M5 in the workshop.
This video covers the basics of removing the gearbox and flywheel and discusses a few smaller upgrades whilst the gearbox is out of the vehicle.
We also discuss changing the differential input pinion seal and changing the gearbox gear slector joint.

Great video, I wish you had done this one before i installed my UUC v12 clutch/lightweight flywheel. Where did you get the 13mm pilot bushing? what application is that? I would like to hear a startup idle video of your car with the new flywheel. ive got a hellacious rattle of my idler gears at idle.

Hi Scott - the 13mm bearing is available from all good bearing suppliers for as little as £5. There is a small amount of chatter at idle, but this is counteracted by increasing the idle speed using ECUWorx software to 950rpm to remove that chatter.

Any idea where you can get hold of the T55 Torx bit removal tool, or do BMW still sell this?

I need your help! tell me, please help me! I have a broken input shaft bearing on my getrag 420g (m5 e39), please tell me where can I buy this bearing or a replacement bearing???? I live in Russia and we don't have such bearings

Nice video! I just had the same kit installed to my m5 e39, how did the clutch feel after the install? As original but little bit stiffer?

BBB Powertrain flywheel with Sachs heavy duty clutch and pressure plate.

the torx is not correct its a t60 !!!!

Goddammit BMW BMW should bankrupt they deserve it because they make it too many people suffering and lost a lot of money deliberately and when you gonna realize this is already will be late........Goddammit BMW........ Nice video and Good job, it was very interesting. Thank you ////////////////////
