BMW E93 Roof FINALLY Fixed + OTOFIX D1 Diagnostics used to Check Live Data

I finally managed to fit the replacement roof pump that I picked up for £180 from someone in the E9x Owners Club, however that wasnt the end of the story.
I ended up buying a OTOFIX D1 Diagnostics tool that used Autel software. It certainly helped with the process of investigation, checking hall sensors and the coupling lock, even if the issue ended up being quite simple.
This is the article I found online about possible micro switch issues causing a failure of the roof to go down.

Great vid. Just waiting to fit my relay after water ingress, nowhere near as bad as yours so Im hoping and praying I dont have the problems you have had.

Hi Neil a have trouble with my roof, nobody in cr knowing about it in the BMW suggests replace all the roof

If you have no codes then the most common issue is the 2 salmon coloured relays on the pump.

Neil I need your help I can hear your pump working there is no sound coming from mine I also have e93 windows went down now they don’t even go up checked relays they seems okay what you recon I think I should do the same get a diagnostic tool (I checked the screw at the pump it’s all good) get new relays or new motor?

Where are you based? The relays are the first place to look, but also check you have power from the batter board. It’s the bit I had to bypass in either this video or one of my other ones.

Does the OTOFIX allow you to go into management mode to override any broken sensor?

Could you write what the correct oil level is when the roof is down? I own a BMW F33 and I have a problem with the roof, it does not respond to the button at all, the only thing that happens is the windows go down halfway. Maybe too low oil level turns off the pump !? I have no more ideas. The pump should work at a low level?

I’m not sore of levels when roof is down. Can you hear the pump? It could also be the relays bit more sore the F33 is the same as the E93 when it comes to issues with roof.

The pump cannot be heard, complete silence... I've checked the relays, they are okay, as are the fuses. Could it be the CTM controller?

@@bettasplendens6591 the relays can still be a problem even if they appear to test ok. It could be a sensor issue but that would show on a diagnostic check.

Absolute legend, I replaced my motor and wasn’t having any luck till you mentioned rewiring it directly to the battery 🤌🏻🤌🏻
