I've only just myself a new F700 GS with all the options and I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However seeing this awesome video has made my day!!! What a great video and view of the instrument panel - gives me a better perspective of gear usage in this mountain climbing situation. Mind you I live in Australia and we haven't got mountains like this - I've been used to riding a lovely old BMW R65 - 30+ years old and nowhere near as powerful. Great effort and many thanks for the inspiring video

I've got to be honest, I didn't think there was anything left after 5k revs, so this is interesting to see. Can't wait for my next ride out!

Had 2 test drives today, the bike performed better than expected. Great Video, take Cares. Regards from Japan (ein Landesmann)

Wow, nice ride. Great footage. I am getting an F700GS soon. Nice demonstration of the acceleration, UPHILL! I like how you blasted by those other motorcycles in the beginning.

Hi ! Great footage. This is the kind of video i was looking for! As others already mentioned: The 1st gear ist way too long... (and i'm riding the F in a almost flat area ;-) . Try changing the sprocket from 17 to 16 teeth.... Frank

Reading the advrider forums it looks like tuning with a powercommander and autotune can do wonders for the low speed tractability of the F7/800 engine. PCV is now on my wish list ;)

Frank, great video and great riding! I'm getting a F700 myself in a week and in your video the great sound of the engine at accelerations is very dominant. How do you record it? Tx!

Yeah, my friend is lending me his for a couple months. 1st gear is way too tall. It stalls surprisingly easy off the line on hills and such if you're not aggressive enough with the throttle due to the tall gearing I think. Wish it was torquier/slower off the line. It doesn't even roll torquey enough to not buck in 1st with no throttle. Most bikes can pull that off, especially dual sports.

Nice video, thanx. How is the F700GS with a passenger? Is there a problem being a taller rider (6.3 feet or 192 cm). I been riding there on a MT-01. Really like the road from the top down the other side.
@DerHeld80m
@DerHeld80m 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, 192 cm is most likely too tall for the bike. I am 182 cm tall and considering to replace the normal seat for a higher one. If your passenger/girl friend isn't that tall - say 170cm - it should be fine for longer rides. Ever with a top case there' plenty of space.

got quite tall gearing-doesn't seem to pull that well from down low. Has the gearing being raised as it seems quite tall for off road, especially 1st gear!

Bleh, I'm sure it does. I'm weary of piggy-backs, though. When I tune EFI I either want full standalone EMS or full programmability through the OEM EMS (ie. COBB AP, SCT, CATS, DSP, TuneBoy, etc.). Piggy backs work fine for retarding timing for boost or richeing A/F for boost, though I'm weary of tuning them N A :-\. That being said, many people use the PC with great results... Can't believe they're on 5 already, lmao.

Euh... You really switch down in the 1st gear to take bends? (0’24", 2’02", 2’55" etc.) That’s weird...

far too much low gear! you can @ least do it in 4th if not 5th or top! must have had no petrol pretty soon? and a worn engine, gearbox, and clutch if you keep doing that!
@BFD15i
@BFD15i 9 жыл бұрын
Clutch, engine and gearbox don't give a shit about high revs. As long as you don't rev her to the redlight all the time, warm the engine up before high revs and don't drive with a grinding clutch. For the petrol-issue: If you drive the F-series like that, the engine will consume 6 litres / 100km tops. Most likely still a bit less, so you would get up to 250-300km with one tank.

still kinder on the engine riding in higher gears!

toorest trikie In general: Yes. However, it depends on different factors. To much throttle in to low revs isn't good either. I don't see him going too rough on his bike. Always in mind that he has a passenger and luggage on his bike, too.
