@@derbigpr500 I mean it’s £20k less than the A45 and less than half the price of the M3, while being relatively close in performance and having the additional fun factor of a manual transmission. If you think some fit and finish plus a 0.5-1.5 second advantage is worth £20-50k we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

The lack of absolute bhp is part and parcel of it's masterpiece chassis. It probably wouldn't go that much faster with more horsepower

@@Sfisoul right, the fwd cant realy handle more power (on small Tracks/Traffic) but it doesnt realy need to either. The japanese are just clever and the Honda is just impressive on its own being able to race and perform against two completly different systems, powers and pricetags that would seem to give ALOT of advantage. But in the end it doesnt, shows the true work that whent in the Honda.

That is totally relative. If you also care about how a car looks, the Civic is incredible ugly. Therefore if you ask me, it is too expensive for sure.

I was not arguing on design and on who spends their money on what and how mutch. That is optional. But sure, if it makes you happy above all things in life spending 35k euro + for looks its your choice.

That is irrelevant. First, you are not paying for a laptime. Second, this is a very short track and it cannot use it's extra power. On other tracks the difference will be more. BMW said it is faster than the M4 GTS on the nurburgring.

The Merc has the same capacity engine. And I suspect if they fitted a larger engine in the Civic they'd destroy its balance (and would need to go AWD, which would increase the weight even further). I think it's fine as it is...

@@dlevi67 im just saying...actually if Honda fitted their type r with that same engine on the coming Acura Type S 3.0 which almosy weigh 4k pounds and still fast and strong. That can fit in the type r, they just have to make some adjustments on the body or maybe none at all. Honda engineers always come up with almost impossible things all the time. My point is if Honda really would want to destroy their competitions they could...but they care about affordability so thats what they do.

@Peter Hammer. I disagree. The new M3 is over styled with shapes just for the sake of having shapes. Look at the hood and by the tailpipes. Over styled begins to look like a clowns car.

You were right about the horsepower deficit, but it's more the manual box than the FWD that also slows things up

A 340i is cheaper than any type r and is rear wheel drive and is better than any fwd car
