my 2011 528I has the alternator mounting bolts in a different location from the one shown in your video and makes it more tricky to remove and re-install the new one.

Have you seen these work at idle but fail at freeway speeds ? I think I’m having this issue it killed my battery and I’m losing communication at 55-65

You could have saved your self some money by just replacing the voltage regulator on the back of the alternator. I just replaced my alternator on my e90 n52. And found out the day after I replaced mine that you can just replace the voltage regulator and save like $200.00. Little fyi for anyone else with this issue. 🤷🏽‍♂️

According to a few KZfaq vids, the diodes are stuck open on mine. Using alternator to test, showed charge moving freely both ways, most likely cause of my car discharging to dead over each week or 2 of sitting. Battery charges fine until it dies from sitting.

Don't reuse aluminum bolts, they are torque to yield...

I think your alternator was good, the alternator/overrun pulley was all you needed to replace. The large build up of worn belt under it means it was locking up. The pulley should be replaced every 60k miles.

You need to replace the bolts. They are one time use and made of aluminum for n52. 90 inch pounds plus 180 degrees is the spec.
