in this video I will show you how to replace a new disa valve and how a old disa valve can fail and what a failed disa valve looks like I will also show you a failed air suspension pump and the causes of no chance to rebuild as it was to late and this pump was on its last legs therefore leaving me no choice but to purchase a new one

Les comparto mi experiencia y solución: Tengo un BMW 530i (E60) con motor n52... Todo comenzó con el clásico chillido que hace el vehículo cuando la válvula pcv está dañada, así lo dejé pensando que era alguna polea, le cambié la banda y la polea loca y el chillido seguía, otro síntoma es que el vehículo de la nada se me apagaba, y comence a notar que el consumo de gasolina no era el óptimo, lo volvía a encender y andaba de nuevo, después hice la prueba con el motor encendido intentaba quitar el tapón del aceite y era tanta la succión que a veces ni siquiera lo podía quitar, lo que me llevó a la conclusión de que la válvula pcv estaba dañada... Después cambie la pcv (en estos motores se cambia la tapa de punterías completa, ya que la pcv viene integrada a la tapa), y asunto arreglado, se quitó el chillido y dejó de apagarse de la nada, hasta aquí todo bien.... Pasó el tiempo y noté que el consumo de gasolina estaba muy elevado y el carro comenzó a hacerme otros síntomas, ralentí inestable, y cuando el motor caía a las 600-700 rpm, el coche comenzaba a vibrar, pero era una vibración excesiva en general, adentro se escuchaba demasiado, el volante, tablero, el habitáculo vibraba mucho y sentí que el carro tenía pérdida de potencia, Check engine encendido con código de falla 2AA9, pero ojo!!, Primero lo escanee con un escáner clásico, actron sencillo y no arrojaba código, hasta que le metí un escáner más completo y con este si lo arrojó, por lo que recomiendo que lo escaneen con el mejor posible... Después quité las 2 válvulas disa y sorpresa!, todo el colector de admisión tenía residuos de aceite, quite el sistema de admision, le hice su limpieza, probé las disa y estaban atascadas, las abrí para checarlas por dentro y que creen?...la disa primaria tenía ya el motor oxidado y con residuos de aceite, le hice su limpieza y volvió a la vida!, pero la secundaria estaba inundada de aceite! Y la tarjeta electrónica que lleva se estropeó, solo pude rescatar la disa primaria, así que preferí comprar las 2 disa usadas en buen estado y originales, que nuevas genéricas... Después hice las pruebas para checar las válvulas, es importante que hagan la prueba de esta manera: coloquen las disa usadas en su lugar pero sin conectar, teniendo las disa nuevas afuera, les puse sus conectores para poder observarlas, eché a andar el vehículo y la primaria cerró por completo y se mantuvo cerrada en ralentí (así debe ser), y la secundaria cerró entre las 3500 y 4500 rpm (así debe ser también), y dependiendo las rpm están abriendo y cerrando todo el tiempo, por lo que concluí que estaban en perfecto estado, ya solo armé todo nuevamente y asunto arreglado, el coche anda perfecto, y ya no tiene ningún síntoma que les mencioné, le borré el código y ya no apareció más.. En conclusión, cuando noten el primer síntoma o que la pcv comienza a dar problemas, no duden en cambiarla inmediatamente!!, esto les evitará problemas con las disa y créanme, les ahorrará bastante tiempo y dinero (disa nuevas, gasto de gasolina innecesaria, sensores, etc)... Your videos are the most informative .. i've learned so much more about n52 from you. But my only question is how can i install the 330i factory tune on my 328i after installing the 3 stage intake manifold ?? Because my research leads me to the fact that the smaller disa valve is set to open at 32000 rpm from the factory on a 328i ...so doesn't operate at all and the bigger one operates at 4500 rpms rather than 3270 rpms in the 330i tune. OR can I manipulate the flaps only without a 330i tune with some software? Thanks in advance !!

Hi, I removed the disa valve and they were in open position but no play, should they be closed or open when u remove them?

Hi Dan, have been trying to find a solution with loads of garages and so called BMW specialists here in the Netherlands. My N52B25A from e60 2006 has been showing 2aac code on and off. Some say it's the small disa that needs replacing, others argue it's the big one. How can I determine the difference? The car does not stall and does have power, it just struggles with immediate power delivery - keeps on being stuck at 2k rpm even though on full throttle. Please help 🙏

bud do you have any experience with the Vaico brand disa? I haven't been able to locate their country of origin, but i figured they were a better bet vs the random chinese branded ones. I know i'll be called cheap but i just couldn't justify spending 750$+ for the OE bmw disa's, but i've had great luck with these Vaico. Also they were from FCPeuro so if i ever had an issue i could just send them back but i figured i'd ask your opinion as i trust it

Yo dean you should do a fuel line diy the one on top of the manifold that runs down. Mines is leaking and smells like fuel during hard runs from the dash

hi what is the symtoms if the small disa valve is bad? just changed my big disa valve and the valve was lose in the instage xD

I had to replace the whole manifold with a used one, i couldn't find new disa flaps. My car is shutting off at low rpm/ or when gets hot. They will replace the fuel pump and filter as they were dirty.

Looks like if the pin goes down the flap coud fall off then allow the pin to get out and be sucked by the engine

My big DISA was FUCKED when I inspected it the other day. The flap didn't even locate in its hole. I'm getting it sorted tomorrow, but in the mean time I took the flap out (it was ready to fall out on its own) so I can safely drive it up to where I'll be working on it. Fuck knows what the little one looks like, haven't taken the manifold off yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Looks like I'll need to do the CCV valve too before too long (lest it pisses oil all over the new DISAs). So the bottom (small) disa flap if stiff it needs replacing? Would you go aftermarket with these if they come with a 2 year warranty?

I think he meant the small DISA valve thats on the back of the intake manifold should be stiff because it does not open as much as the bigger one. The bigger one usually goes bad first. The smaller one on the back requires taking off the intake manifold to remove. I had a little play on the bigger one 4 years ago and surprisingly was okay till this year. The flap totally is hanging, good thing I took it out along with the CCV. The CCV is so bad, was sucking a little bit of oil into the intake manifold. I just recently clean all of it and got a new CCV with the hose kit for $437 and now a new DISA Valve on the lower portion $350 :'(
