Hello Jan. Your work is perfect. Like a guide. Congratulations. I have a question. I knew there mustn't be any clearance between the front bearing and bearing retainer. But I'm not 100% sure. I see you mentioned and measured the clearance of them. Can you tell me what should this clearance be? Best Regards.

There should be no clearance, so that there is no axial movement of the crankshaft

@@janwithagen3208, yes there is no axial movement according to my search throughout many documents and experience. But you are measuring a clearance between bearing and retainer, after pressing and fixing the retainer at 04:30. Feeler gauge fits between the bearing and retainer after resizing the ratainer. Am I wrong?

What is the tool you are using to press the bearings? Is it a specific for BMW or universal press?
