Great riding dfmodels82. There is a distinct wobble between 150km-160km. I have it on mine (I have 2019 s1000r). I don't know what to do about that but you rode extremely well. Great stuff. All the pre-2021 s1000r models are the ducks nuts. It's a shame the 2021 'update' didn't evolve what was an awesome platform. It needed more torque & HP. 120NM of torque & 170HP were figures that are achievable with the s1000rr engine platform. The s1000r should be the hyper-naked of its big brother (the s1000rr) whilst keeping pace with KTM, Ducati & Aprilia who have all produced true "hyper-naked" models for 2021+. BMW have let themselves down & the entire concept of the s1000r with their update. I hope they correct themselves asap.

Ohlins steering dampener will eliminate all the head shake. When I first got mine, it hat consistent head shake was the only real limiting factor of the motorcycle- and my skill... The ohlins give such confidence. Have not experienced head shake since installing it. Had to play with settings for a few rides. 7 clicks from 0 will be the perfect setting. Complete eliminated head shake at any speed, however takes some time to be conditioned to the very heavy steering at slow speed. If you let someone ride your bike, you must warn them of the heavy steering or they will tip over at low speed. It’s a trade off worth making. It completes an otherwise perfect motorcycle.
@justwhenyouthought61193 жыл бұрын
@@michaelscott761 So to solve the 'wobble' you create another problem, heavy steering at low speeds. It's a plaster over a crack! You expect BMW to be a premium brand, none of the other hypers have this problem as a regular part of the machine.

Lots of questions on the high speed wobble. I had the same problem with my 2014 S1000R. Turned out my front wheel bearings needed changing as did my front tyre. These bikes are good for 150mph+ without any head wobble. Its a horrible feeling and really detracts from the pleasure of enjoying the bike when you open it up. Change the bearings and that will solve alot of the issues.

I am a heavier guy and have NEVER had a head shake issue with my ‘17 s1000r, on track or road. @@teddd10 I am not sure the absence of head wobble on my “analog” S1000R is because it does not have the active suspension or something else. It is just not something I have experienced, and I have been mindful of it because I have read the complaints by other s1000r owners. For my part I have found the s1000r to be a smooth, highly responsive, predictable and confidence inspiring bike, and for all those reasons I have kept it for 43000km because until recently nothing else on the market appealed. I have ridden it in ways that you would expect the issue to have arisen - that said, my riding style (whatever the pace) tends to be smooth than snappy. I would recommend getting someone to look at your steering damper (I assume it is the same on the active and non-active suspended versions).
