Well explained and less complicated than most other videos. Everybody else says you got to take with the brakes off and drop all the lower control arm. But you showed you didn't mean to. Hopefully it's the same with a E 92

I replaced mine last weekend with Bilstein B8 and Lemforder tower mounts. Interestingly, of all things I was able to get rid of a nasty clunk The car had for many years back when I had replaced the front struts with Tokico brand. This definitely came as a great upgrade and now my ZHP rides like a magnet on the road. Great video and thanks for the step by step instructions.

great to see you can use a normal spring compressor tool, that you can get from Advance Auto or Auto Zone and don't have to buy a special BMW spring compressor

How did you stabilize the rotor and control arm so the brake cable didn't have pressure on it when you removed the strut?
@josepeixoto33847 жыл бұрын
Alcides you´re a brave man; you put two fingers on the way of that SPRING, at 9:40;if the compressor (nut thread) failed, that spring could cut your fingers clean off; I keep the threads of my compressors always well greased; I´ve had compressors strip the threads,due to very intensive usage,running dry; a compressed spring is dangerous. The nice yellow shocks: they seem too hard , did they RUIN the factory ride?

Hola, antes de todo muy buen video. Ahora lo siguiente, los amortiguadores son B6 o B8? Yo tambien tengo un ZHP 2005 y pienso remplazar los Tokico que instalé hace más de 7 años. Gracias por tu respuesta!
@mosesg.53595 жыл бұрын
han de ser B8, yo tengo los mismos y los cambiaré mañana para remplazar Tokicos que instale hace casi 9 años. Bilstein es lo máximo. Chingones y calidad.

im looking to buy a used 1995 BMW 525 and the guy says it could use front shocks soon but is still derivable, do you need shocks for a car like this.
@harrykourm24628 жыл бұрын
prob don't buy Springs just struts
@mosesg.53595 жыл бұрын
I’d say replace them if needed.. the car Is over 20 years so u definitely need new struts, for that matter the whole suspension would be better, do this and you’ll notice the difference in your ride.

you didn't even put the bottom part of the spring in the bottom strut housing correct.its off by two inches..clearly can see it and end of the video
@ashleydowdeswell70265 жыл бұрын
no that's how they fit, it's not an end stop for the spring, as you can see the rubber slopes off, so not designed to have spring mounted to the end stop

That was already a replacement spring. BMW OEM are not progressive or painted red. But you only need to replace if you want to change or something is damaged.

David Wendel These Bilstein with the blue concertina dust shroud has an internal bump stop. They're actually inverted piston that's why the shaft is thick.
