BMW X5 xDrive50e (PHEV) 2023/2024 is a plug-in hybrid car with 3.0 l inline-6 turbo petrol engine plus electric motor. Total system power: 360 kW (489 HP), 700 Nm, xDrive, Steptronic. The lithium-ion battery capacity: 29.5 kWh gross (part of it ~25.7 kWh is available for driving in electric mode). WLTP figures for BMW X5 50e xDrive 2023/2024: 94 - 110 km in all-electric mode. I checked it in a city and on a highway. Results for BMW X5 SUV xDrive50e Plug-In Hybrid:

I have this car and I have been driving electric for several months now. I never ever achieved over 100km of range on a full charge. I drive super smooth (as people tend to do where I live), I do not carry any heavy load, my tires have the right pressure and I pre-heat the interior before un-plugging to avoid using the battery for that. I have no idea how to reach 120km range and, frankly, I doubt it is even feasible. To be fair, BMW never pretended to offer such range!

Doesnt your ice engine suffer from never being started for months?

@@Rumblingbelly Well, maybe it would if I really never started it., I don't know. However, I do start it at least once a week, usually on weekends, when I have a long drive or by going into sport mode just to hear the engine. I love everything about the electric mode but I miss the sound of the engines sometimes. Call me nostalgic ;-)

The same comment in Eng. I will say this, I drive exactly the same roads, interestingly enough, I have exactly the same interior of the car, but when driving in a slippery way I still get an average speed of 26, although I noticed that the maximum speed is 50 km/h, but there is actually a difference in my case and maybe that is the one the problem is that in the city there is no point in driving above this speed because it immediately brakes and accelerating to 70-80 km/h causes very suboptimal driving. I will also add, out of curiosity, that I managed to achieve 33.5KWh/100 at 142 km/h. The car is super cool because you can break savings records and you can compete with a Porsche whenever you want. When it comes to fuel consumption, February was 3.8 liters/100 (1,400 km), and January was 15 liters/100 (3,700 km). The difference is large, but it results from the average of 180 km/h on the 2000 KM route, where fuel consumption was very high. To sum up, the car is great for the city and surrounding areas, but for long routes and at high speeds it is more like a diesel and of course it will not be as fun to drive, because on the road the X5 50e practically drives itself. Setting the Autopilot on the highway at high speed causes the driver to become an observer with his finger on the steering wheel to deceive the system ;).

Thank you for your comment :) Also: congrats choosing great car! As always, when we talk about fuel consumption of PHEV cars almost everything depends on how often you charge the car. High consumption in January is because you made long trips without many opportunities to charge the battery.

Jesli chodzi o spalanie benzyny, to luty mi wyszylo 3.8 litrów/100 ( 1400 km ), zato styczen 15 litrów/100 ( 3700 km ).

@@1001cars I drive rideshare Uber and Lyft. On average 300 miles a day. So I can only plug in and recharge one time overnight. I'm interested in the overall efficiency I would achieve in one day of driving

@@icanmanifest Now you already send SOME info :) We are talking about PHEV. There is no "overall efficiency". The best way is to send your trip on a google or at least say how many km on highway (what exactly speed), how much in a city traffic jam and how many on open road (with speed like 60-90 km/h)
@planb2504
@planb2504 7 күн бұрын
@@icanmanifest dude I don't know mpg but I will try my best to give you km/l. Here you got 100 km using electricity from your overnight charge. When battery depletes you 380km will be solely on gas which typical consumption for this size of car is 8-12km/liter. So you looking at 380/8=47.5l to 380/12=31.6l of gas to fill up every day.
