i actually like the design of this car, it's pretty futuristic looking and i love it especially in black like you said! it really accentuate the aggressive body lines of this car.

The exterior design reminds me of a warthog, and while I wouldn't call it classically handsome, it does look better in person than it does in pictures.

I bought one of these (in black) a few months ago and i love it. Every time i drive it the car puts a smile across my face. My only complaint is the transmission…..it’s a bit finicky, especially when moving thru the gears in manual. It’s not nearly as quick or responsive as you would expect for a 650hp beast. Otherwise it’s a ton of fun. And being a bmw, everything works exactly as expected. Two thumbs 👍🏻 !

The XM is undoubtedly BMW's most controversial vehicle since the Bengal butt 7 Series. Of course, there's the new 7 Series with its distinctive front end, but the XM is on a whole other level. Probably the biggest issue I have with the XM is that it's effectively supposed to be the spiritual successor to the M1. Now, I'm not a BMW fanatic, but I think this is a huge slap in the face for the brand. If they wanted to make a true successor to the M1, why couldn't they have made an actual sports car? I get that it costs money to create an all new platform, however, I believe they could've easily done so. Hell, they could've made it a hybrid and it would've been a beast probably. But no, they resorted to an SUV.

I saw one again yesterday in person and I kinda like it. The interior is very nice too and has a nice mix of more classic bmw and then also more futuristic bmw too.

This and the new Escalade, look like a carved ice sculpture or a gemstone I kinda like that style overall but not my cup of tea

Noticed a lot of the interior trim is very similar to my 8 series. I’m glad my 8 does not have idrive 8.5 tho! Love idrive 7 so much more. While idrive 8 does look nice, it seems way more complicated.

I Would go for the X6M i own. Both my X6M and X3M are faster than then XM. I do like the XM but before modifying “because like all cars i own, they have to be modified “ but the XM must be faster and alot more powerful for that price point.

The only problem I see is the steering wheel, why not the new m steering wheel, not this outdated one

this is a money no object project for BMW tbh. just like the i3 and i8 which both were pretty much concept exercises that doesn't really offer the performance per dollar. overall all three cars are pretty cool.

It looks best in black because you cant see its lines properly, the interior and everything under the bonnet seems top teir but i can't get over how repulsive it is. (Better than the concept tho)

Always liked BMW, but the design department have lost it, it is really overdesigned, saw the 7 series in Stockholm the front well so sad, but nice cars to drive like you said

Marketing f*cked up here. If they called it the X8M it would have made alot more sense, but pivoting it as the halo car of the M range is idiotic at best

I just don't understand how they can let such an awful design roll off the production line. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally okay with BMW taking a different design direction which is modern or not conforming to heritage BMW but Domagoj is hell bent on making them ugly.
