I have a 06 330i and have 1 original key. I want to order a couple spares just in case. Will this program a 2nd key?

I've ordered a replacement for my 2005 320D e90. Some videos just show you unclip the ribbon cable and plug the new one in. Is it worth me doing the 20 second thing anyway?

You have to program the the keys connection with the brake 100percent of the time...

I'm confused - what is the purpose of removing the screws and popping the clips up? Does this put it in program mode, or something?

Or opposite, it's a reprogramming step, plus I changed the ignition system

The programming didn't work on a 2011 328xi. Even though I have the same key style and design. And I have a good genuine key. Trying to program a second key with only one master.

only thing you can do this way or similar ways is to activate the non startup remote functions (lock, trunk). to program a new spare, you need an autel maxisys unit (or similar) or you can buy an AK90 programmer on ebay. otherwise, you're going to a dealer or locksmith - and most won't program keys you buy on amazon/ebay.

I have 2008 320D. The fob unlocks and looks the doors but I insert into the ignition and it doesn't grab the fob or seem to recognise in any way. What is the issue please

Put the key in the ignition, then hold the brake down for 20 seconds, it will probably program itself to the car. If not you will need to buy a new key fob, sorry...Hopefully it will work out...

i lost my original key and made a new one, recently my purse was stollen with my spare key in it and now i am keyless. They are asking $400 to get a key made by a locksmitch or dealer ship it is a 2007 bmw 328i so almost the same car as yours, i ordered a key off amazon is there any way i can program my self im not exactly trying to spend $400. I have the new key in hand can i do my self or do i need to have it programmed?

Put the key in and leave it for 25sec while holding the break down

You only have to put it in the holder for 20seconds while pushing on the break, if that doesn't work, which it should, then buy the inner part from the video and change it, it will work 100percent after that, it costs $90. Much cheaper than the 400, but I don't see why you would need more then just the key, good luck!

i know you might have gotten same question but ill ask. i lost my fob i just order from ebay ignition and fob key if i follow your steps i should be able to start my car back up keep in mind i do have the hard key still just lost the fob

Either you've mislabelled the video,.. Or you have no idea what you're actually doing. For anyone reading this, a brand new VIRGIN key needs to be programmed to the CAS module. Programming requires specialized tools and software (and generally costs between $200 and $2,000 for the tools depending on the brand and model you buy). You should also then have your emergency key blade cut on a vertical key duplicator (or cut by code/number if you dont have a key to duplicate from). What this poster is showing/talking about is SYNCING a pre-programmed key to the car.

Actually you are wrong, trust me, I did it to my car, promise.. New ignition and put the key in for 20 seconds while you are pushing on the break..

@@bmwracecarandthen54legend64 the key was ALREADY programmed into the CAS. Its impossible for a virgin key to self register to a random CAS. Thats like buying a random Slage key and using it on all homes door knobs. I have a video on my channel showing exactly what tools are required and the steps to take to PROGRAM a virgin key to a CAS. Your video is fine when showing how to sync or activate imto an active slot a pre-programmed key.

Hey buddy. I lost my keys and refuse to 500 from dealership. I purchased a key replacement fob and everything online. I have a 2007 bmw 328i coupe. Is this what I'm supposed to follow to reprogram it?

I replaced the inner peice not the key.. I actually should've been clearer, sorry. The key is a digital scan from a dealership, it only takes one second and it's done.
