Great video. This info just helped me fix a problem I’ve been trying to fix for a year. Thank you and thank the Lord

Very good video! I’m trying to run my graphs on a totally separate battery but I’m having interference. I have (3) Group 31’s for tm only, a group 29 for my craning and accessories and I just put in another group 29 to solely run my graphs and talons. With new battery installed and connected, I have power shortage.

Thanks for the reply. If you have a Merc 250 ProXS then you have to have a cranking battery that meets the requirements for that first. A 29 Group isn't going to cut it and thats before adding any power pole/talon, graphs, etc. New units are not like those 10 yrs ago at all. Everything requires more power.

Also if you're still having interference issues offset your ping rates on each unit. That should help a bit too.

Why does the Hook2 12” have such a small gauge power wire?

Awesome break down. I will be installing one 9in graft. Should I wire to battery or pull power from ignition switch?

Hello Richard that's what's I'm trying to find out also. How did you end up doing it?

Any know why a ti2 screen flashes on and off. Just bought all new batteries only running 1 fish finder at console ti2 12 inch . The guy that installed it hooked it up tp master power switch . So if I run that duplex wire from my ti2 straight to battery that will elevate the problem ? What about a inline fuse? If I wire straight from battery to ti2

Check out this link for the marine grade wire. www.westmarine.com/duplex-wire/_/N-1z12xhk. Maybe you can find it cheaper, but this is what was used in my boat. 99% of problems occur from insufficient wire/battery combos.

I just added a ti2 this year. I hooked it to my trolling motor battery because I want as little draw on my cranking battery as possible. When I run the trolling motor the screen on my ti2 changes color.I believe it's a power issue rather than interference from my transducer. I did notice my voltage on my tm battery was down, not up to the 12 v level. I put a charger on the battery and will give it another try. I usually put a tender on the batteries when not in use but that may not be charging the tm battery sufficiently. Am I on the right frame of thinking? Should I consider a third battery dedicated to the ti2? I am thinking maybe a battery that is used for a portable graph for a graph battery.

To doesn't draw a lot of power. Connect normally or use marine tinned copper wire and you'll get away from the interference.

On your transducer on the back, is it ok to run to the dash with the power wires? Or do I have to run them away from each other
@brewcrewfishing4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. No worries running together, just as long as you have wire your graphs with correct size wire. Interference usually comes from the TM from brush motors. If you still find interference and you're running 2 or more graphs, simply set the ping rate off by 1 on each unit as well and the interference should minimize.

Dude, fuses belong as CLOSE to the source of power (the battery) as possible, not as far away as what you did. You want the fuse to protect the wire run in the boat also - not doing so is a fire hazard. Put a fuse in the rear that meets spec for the display unit you're using. Only one fuse is required, and with the right one in the rear, there is no reason for a fuse underneath the bow panel. Lowrance will confirm this should you choose not to believe me. You'll also reduce the number of splices in the circuit by not having the unnecessary fuse under the bow panel.

No it's Duplex. Similar to Romex in homes but this is made for marine environment (solid vs marine tinned stranded wire). BTW I have upgraded this wiring since I created this video w 8GA Duplex wiring.
