Bob Geldof performing at Live 8's "Final Push" in Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium on the 6th July, 2005. He is accompanied by Campino on guitar. Organised by Sir Bob Geldof and The Band Aid Trust to raise money to fight poverty around the world, the event was viewed by around 2 billion people.

I'd like to have a go at organising a Live 8 concert in my State of Oregon. Can someone give me some pointers as to where to start, i.e. how big should the venue be? A sports stadium or concert hall? How much to charge? What organisations can I get this help from... to build a stage, set up electrics, lights, lasers, etc. How do I get bands and singers to my event? How do I advertise. How much time do I need to set up such an event. Any help appreciated.
