NFL great Bob Hayes played wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys from 1965-1974. Roger Staubach gave some remarks since Bob had passed away in 2002.
"Bullet" Bob Hayes had quite another story that took place before his NFL career at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. It was there that Bob set sprinting records, won a Gold medal and became to be known as the "World's Fastest Human."

He was my inspiration when ever I stepped on the field and many others at my age group. He will always be the best in my eyes. I had opportunity to wear the number 22 in our youth football league and remember this He will never be forgotten. Even though football Nation didn't treat him as Royalty he is now in immorality with God for ever and ever Remember that Bobby Jr.With Love always ❤️.

Bob Hayes was my favorite football player growing up. I was introduced to him in 1966 and I've been a fan ever since. Yes, it is a travesty that he was not inducted during his lifetime, but I am so glad he was finally inducted. The Hayes family, Dallas Cowboys fans and all football fans should be very proud of what Bob Hayes accomplished and how he changed the game.

Probably so, as Dallas had their eye on Carl Lewis in the 80's but he was not interested in football.
