Bob Hayes was the most exciting NFL player ever. He was a threat to go all the way in any play. He is the reason NFL started zone defense.

Bob Hayes was also an author. "Run Bullet Run".

Yes ,i agree with Rauls comment.Bob Hayes is the fastest human ever.He was undeafeated in 49 consecutive sprints in his college track career,100 meters,100 yds.60yds.which his time of 5.99 seconds,for the 60 yds.has never been beat to this day.He ran 10.00 at Tokyo olympics in 1964,runing in lane one,chewed up,plus cinder track surface.Hayes won by 2 tenths of a second,not even pressed hard,in a better lane,pressed a little harder,he easily runs 9.9 on a moist dirt track.On todays mondo-synthetic tracks engineered for speed,better shoes,etc.Hayes runs 9.4-9.5 seconds for 100 meters.His time for the 100 meter relay at Tokyo,were he came from 4 meters back,to win by 3 meters,was 8.6 seconds,not 8.9 as Gifford states above.This sprint is reguarded by most track experts,as the fastest 100 meters ever,remember he was runing on a cinder track at 8.6 seconds.

Scot Armour truth.

And if the film is watched carefully, he gets the baton before the straightaway (which a good plan would do). So, even with a running start his time under 9 seconds on a slow track is unbelievable! In football, he made mediocre quarterbacks look good. All they had to do was throw as hard as they could and he would be there to catch it! Changed pro football.

Bob was a football player first. Gold medals was just something he did in his spare time.

Which makes his sprint achievements all that much impressive.

Bullet Bob would still hold all the 100 meter dash record if he ran on a tartan track! ...
@raulchavez41818 жыл бұрын
this IS the fadtest man to ever walk the earth. his times were all run on cinder (DIRT)tracks. if he ran back then on modern rubberized tartan surface tracks he would own yhe record for the 100m today

It was disgusting and insulting that Bob Hayes was not invited to the Olympic Games in LA.
@switchhitter083 жыл бұрын
It was his past, and the image it provided. At least Bob was rehabilitating his image when interviewed.
